Default Creativity help.

So i am not artsy! But i would like to photo and make some prints of my wrist watches. Not sure how to set up the shot for an artistic feel.

i can always use a solid back drop or do a wrist shot but looking for something with more flair and less clinical.

any idears?

Do you have access to strobes or off camera flashes?

As you know the key to all photography is being able to control/modify lighting. This is especially true for product photography as (to do it right) you need to be in a controlled lighting situation where you can add/supplement/shape the light. You can pick up some inexpensive flashes and remote triggers on Amazon and it will change your photography drastically. NOTE: This next comment is NOT directed towards you or anyone else on this forum...but when people tell me they are a "Natural Light Shooter", I have found that 99.99% of the time it means they do not know how to modify light so they shoot with the lighting they are given. Learn how to modify light and your photography will grow rapidly.

Here are some really kind of simple shots I did in my studio with some basic flashes and gels. This would be similar(ish) type of lighting patterns you may want to experiment with.

Thank you. You always have great input and insight! Looking at your photos i like the idea of a smoke element.
