Default Weird gear question?

so my friends and I are planning a motorcycle trip up to Nova Scotia. I have been toying with the idea of taking my camera with me. I don’t know how to protect it and also fit it in my motorcycle. Any suggestions?

will be taking my main body, standard zoom lens, and my 200 to 600. Thinking of some sort of hard case with good foam. And putting it in one of my saddlebags.

can you rig a small pelican case on top or in between the saddlebags? as long as it's secured well, you can toss a lock on it and not worry about some A-hole swiping it

Actually I was going to ask something similar. Since I bought a Wrangler last year and now added the soft top. I am looking for a case to secure my camera in. Are you thinking the Apache 4800?

the 4800 is too big to fit in my saddlebag. Gonna see if the 3800 will work. In “theory” it should but want to make sure it fits in the bag first, then i can make sure the interior is deep enough for my lens. I think there will only be one day i can actually use it so i am second guessing taking the gear at all. But if it fits we will see.

depending on the room in your wrangler and how much gear I's say fit the 5800

How delicate is the gear? I know people travel all over to take pics of everything. Would a padded bag do the trick?

Just my R7 and the Sigma 600 lens, and I just want something I can secure and put a lock on probably in the rear cargo area so I don't have to put the top up every time I make a quick stop. And I mean in my local area, anything else the top would be put back up.

I'll tell ya, if the back is carpeted (and the sides)cover the sucker in velcro on the bottom and any side touching the case. it's gonna take some effort to get it loose and someone who just reaches in to grab will probably think it's bolted down
