I know there have been a zillion threads on this but want the latest PS2 thoughts from those who have em and been running them :D

Don’t you have PS2s on the ZR1? So, you’re familiar with them, no?

I love the PS2 ZPs on my Z…much better than the GYs I had on my ’09 coupe; although I can’t make a direct comparison as my ’12 Z06 is a MUCH different car than the ’09 coupe, but I couldn’t imagine running GYs on the Z.

I say go for the PS2s, you can’t go wrong.

LOL, good point:D They wear well, I know that :) The two cars are so different as you well know with your Coupe and Z:yesnod: Interesting to hear people's experiences and the difference with the two tires. I don't see anyone jumping up and down for the runcraps

I have 36,000 miles on my PS2's (non run flats). I suspect I'll get another 5,000 before they are shot. Yes, mainly highway miles.

Road Rage 04-05-2012 10:11 PM

When I had my 2007 I went to the PS2's and never looked back. Now with my 2011 GS I installed a set last week after chewing up the rear Goodyear's in 40 minutes at Road Atlanta.

However, one thing I forgot about was the protection lip Michelin puts on the tire. It makes it impossible for me to do my own alignments because our machine (I work for Lexus) doesn't have the special alignment heads needed to fit wheels with no lip to clamp on to. In fact, of the 5 shops I've worked at we never never had them. So I'll have to find a shop that can do it but I have a problem with ANYONE driving my cars let alone even touching them so it's a dilemma I have to deal with.

So if you make the move to PS2's know that all alignment shops won't be equipped for corvette wheels with lip protecting tires installed. Heck when I worked at the Chevy dealer we didn't have them there either. But I never had one come in with PS2's on it. None of this was an issue with the Goodyear's installed.

From n.j.

I actually made it to 14,000 miles on my 2011 GS. Now it's only been on the road 7 months. Just put Michelin Pilot Super Sports on yesterday. So far they are absolutely wonderful.

Any secrets on why the Goodyears are wearing out in the middle? I measured almost 2 degrees of negative camber on my front wheels (2011 Grand Sport) so I am going to the dealer next week to have them "square it up" so I don't get early wear on the inside edge. Anything I should know before I go?

Wearing out in the middle usually means your pressure is too high. There pretty much isn't any other reason. Too much toe in will eat these tires up in a heartbeat.

I read somewhere that GM has new specs for the GS.

Joe, lots of us :( I am sending you a PM!

Hi there !

Could you send me that PM too please ? Less than 6,000 miles on my 2010 GS and the middle of the fronts are worn . I can't believe I need new tires already . I always keep proper pressure and I don't track my car . I'm not happy . :toetap:

Thanks in advance ! ....Matt

Just joined the GY worn out tire club at 6000 miles

Unfortunately, I just joined the premature tire wear club at 6000 miles. I read the thread on this topic and noticed that some of you were sending out a PM to people with the problem. I am not even sure I know what that is, but if it helps talking with the dealer, could I please get you to send me a copy as well.

I have the same story, no racing, not track days, just putting around town with a couple of short road trips. Also any advice in approaching the dealer would be helpful. Did anyone take copies of the messages from this board with them?

Thank you very much!

We have a 12GS with 8000 miles on it. Was aligned at 1500 miles. Did not go to the Pfadt specs just partway out. Tires were still wearing on the inside front and rear so had them redone couple of weeks ago. Car feels great on the road but not enough miles to tell anything. Have had no problem with wear on center at 30 psi..
