At the drag strip rental that I had with several C7 Z06s, the fastest trap speed came from a Z07 equipped car. Seems the aero didn't hurt them below 130 mph. Just our findings.

A myth? ............ Not hardly :D
An otherwise same car equipped with base aero will beat a ZO7 equipped car in a drag race....... and especially so above 130mph. Those are the hard facts with no myth about it  Yeah right, whatever you say! I speak from my expirience, not what other people say ;) |

nice kill. judging by your 60-130 around 9sec. which is prob due to super hot weather in PR.

Need to shift quicker

I speak from my expirience, not what other people say ;) If the aero works, you *will* be slower accelerating than a car with less aero. So either you're slower OR chevy is lying to everyone about the aero on their cars. |

Granted wide tires have added rolling resistance but what do you think those winglets up front and stationary spoiler shaped like a parachute do in the back? |
Definitely a capable car!

Why don't you see that happening? I thought a stock mp4-12c was a 10.6-10.7 quarter mile car. A well driven C7 Z with an intake should be right about there. Doesn't seem to hard to believe to me!

Limited Editions too now:
But formulas are meant for testing, and we'd love a real chance to put formula 675LT against Ferrari's 458 Speciale or 488GTB, or the Lamborghini Huracán. Unfortunately such comparisons look highly unlikely. The Italians refuse to partake in such contests and the 675LT production run is already complete. Volume was limited to 500 and sold out before the first one was delivered. At 179, America got the largest share of these 675LTs, but no press or marketing test vehicle. Unless you let McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini know how much you'd like to see this comparison in the comments below. Read more: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...#ixzz3jgUzNdUV |

Doesn't matter if the car is faster, the driver is still part of the equation.
That day, that race, the 12C lost. |

So you have compared the same ZO6 equipped both with base aero and ZO7 downforce enhancing options

the 12c has launch control with a dual clutch......driver has nothing to do with it unless he doesn't floor it!!!
I know it seems impossible, but you'd be surprised how often drivers can't manage to press the gas pedal to the floor and hold it there. Throw in something more complicated, like "set the switches to sport or track mode" and a faster car can lose all day long. |

I didn't see a standing start with launch control being used in this race.

True but if both cars have equal drivers the Z06 will lose 9/10 races maybe 10/10. The 12c is very underrated and is extremely fast. Just seen some new posts on youtube today of the newer 650S absolutely destroying a viper that had a tune and the 650S was stock. The viper lost by several car lengths.
