The compression ratio is where I would expect it to be, if that's your question.

Its a 355 with 4.035 bore. Seems like to much horsepower to me. Its at the flywheel btw.

It's a big cam, but what heads were used in the sim? With good heads, those numbers are possible. BTW, what analyzer program is that?

MotorHead 10-15-2005 01:11 AM

That's engine analyzer, what heads are you using ? intake, carb etc. ?

Here's mine, everything is optimal, open headers etc. :D

Im using L-98 heads with a very good port job, Victor intake, and 650 cfm carb.

MotorHead 10-15-2005 10:55 AM

Those numbers are in the ballpark, put it on a chassis dyno if those numbers are correct I would expect to see way over 300 HP maybe near 350 HP at the rear wheels :D

You sure you really have a zero deck height? And you going to use a steel shim gasket on an aluminum head? :nono:

It is zero decked. I thought we had a .043 gasket but my dad said .028. My uncle uses a steel shim on his car BB. Its a 600 ci thats makes 1300 hp.

yep the composition gaskets are made very thin now days. There are a couple of .028 for aluminum. Note the corvette gasket is .051  I've been wondering why i don't have much compression.

I'd be interested on what you did to port the L-98 heads. I'd like to try and port mine but i'm afraid i'm gonna screw them up.

Basically i just cut down the bumps so he didnt have as much work and we could save some money. I whould be afraid to to do them with out taking them to be flowed because you can lean out one cylinder if you dont make them all the same. The guy who did our heads is very good and has help on the c5r's btw.
