Carb filter spring

70 vert, 350, Rochester carb. I am missing the spring that goes into the carb before the inline fuel filter. Anyone have a picture of what this looks like and where I might be able to get one ? Thanks

It is a small coil about 1" dia. and 2" long. Can be purchased at any local auto parts store,
Advance is where I got mine.

NPD and Classic Industries also carry these and the filters and the gasket/seal as well.

Does the spring get used with the paper fuel filter as well as the brass fuel filter?

Paper filter. Also has a "anti flow back stopper" in the filter. Available at most parts stores.

Please confirm the order of these parts, spring first, then paper filter (with the open-gasket side towards the fuel line) Thanks

You got it. Insert the spring, then the filter with the open end last in. Think of how it works. Gas comes in the center of the filter, then through the walls and out to the carb. The spring holds the filter so that it seals around the open end. If the filter becomes plugged, the spring is pushed back by pressure and fuel continues to flow so at least the engine will not stall.
