Not too sure why the intake valve would try to open under a power stroke... but it seems this is the failure mode the Engineers are concerned about. DOD engines still rely on a fixed solid camshaft to determine valve events, so how would a mis-timed valve event occur?

Solenoid controlled valves??? Let's all pray. :)
