Factory dash with full cage?

How did you guys get the OE dash pad back in there with the down tubes at the A-pillar? I'd like to put mine back in, but I don't see any way this is going to happen.

Thanks...

you can take the windshield out and put it in if you have a cage that comes down in front of the dash.

bearnest 03-05-2010 08:34 PM

what kind of roll bar padding is that????

Yeah I thought about that as a last resort, but it may be my only option. Any chance I could R&R that sucker by myself?

you could probably remove it but I bet it would break coming out..

I would pull the dash and trim around the corners where the downtubes will go.

Jaymz 03-05-2010 09:14 PM

I remember that I had to flex my dash pad up in teh middle to get it to come in and out with the downtubes..

Illegal? At least dangerous.

davidfarmer 03-06-2010 09:12 AM

You wusses.... That's the only kind of padding there was when I started racing, and it was uphill in both directions, etc etc.......

First time I did a lexan windshiel I had a pro remove the oem glass, they warned me it would probably break, and it did. Next time I just smashed it out

If you fill the dash full of lead, it's easier to put back in.

His dash is currently built with negative gravity via a hidden switch.:toetap:

I think he attended the Yunick school of rules.

David, I know you can make something out of vinyl to put that OEM windshield back together again. lol
