2012 Pace Car Driver for INDY, but what is the car?!
 

Not sure if Indy or GM took me serious, but I am a huge Pace car fan, NO I am not a celebrity, but I just know if Corvette was the Pace car I would represent it with pride through and through.

No official announcement from Indy, but a big thanks to Dan for the email. Looks like Guy Fieri will be the Pace Car Driver, what is so wierd, he and I have the same birth day, January 22 and he was born in Columbus and I work in Columbus. Congrats Guy, maybe you can let me ride shotgun dude…..

Thanks for your note. You are making an assumption that Corvette is the pace car for this year’s Indy race. You are also assuming we get to make the choice of a driver. In the event of the driver, IMS makes the selection. We provide input, but they make the final call.

What the H does Guy have to do with Pace cars......He should stay to dives, diners and drive ins.

Celebrity,car guy and drives a vintage Camaro. That would be my guess.:cool:

He does have a fantastic car collection. Cobra, Corvette, Lambo and a few others. They did his garage on the TV show- Garage Mahal. It was the best garage I have ever seen...........:thumbs: And after Robin Roberts?????? I guess just about anyone will do.......:D

His stolen Lambo was just found in a container that some 17 year old kid owns in Richmond, Ca. I guess he is a Lambo owner again.:smash:

In one of his half hour shows you'll see a windwing on the red vert Camaro, 1967, and the next segment he'll be driving a red vert 68 Camaro without the windwing. Hey, good on Guy. He's made a good living for his own self. :thumbs: :cheers: :flag:

Camaro last 3 or 4 years, don't think we will see it this year.

Chrysler-Dodge pays a boatload of money to buy airtime and become a sponsor and....presenting the 2012 Indy Pace Car.....

It's not unheard of. Dodge and Ford have paced the race before. Maybe not in the last decade or so, but it has happened.

a good friend of mine has some buddies at gm and they told him this years indy pace car is indeed a corvette. my friend is usually reliable so i have no reason to doubt him or his contacts.

^ if true, betting it'll be the 60th Anniv. 427 'vert...!

I would say the 427 Vert or the new Viper.

427 vert would be a good choice.

60th Anniversay 427 Convertible or ZL1 Camaro Convertible

not yet man, I would say get nervous in November.....stay tuned!
