E85 conversion
Any one have any info on the e85 conversion? Sounds like change injectors, fuel pump and sensors and you can turn it into a flex fuel system and pick up 40 to 60hp.

No pump required.

C5KID is going to make the fuel line for this mod he should chime in soon.

TuneTime is almost finished with my flex fuel setup on my ZR1. Results should be in next couple of days.
Other then that I know LMR has done 1 for sure. |

We did one of our Stage 3 ZR1 packages with E85. It made 40rwhp more than on E10. The LS9 really liked the intercooling effect of the ethanol. All that was needed was an injector change. Stock fuel pump. It is not flex fuel. You have the completely empty the tank and change calibrations with HP Tuners when switching fuels. |
The only down side is you will be filling up more often due to decrease in MPG. Bolt ons + e85 and you should make 700+ to the tire.

Here is a sneak peak of the E85 Flex Fuel system I've been working on.
Replaces your factory line and T's enough fuel off for the sensor to read while not creating a restriction in the feed line. http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/...psex8cc1w4.jpg http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/...psopln5h6s.jpg The only PIA is taking the fender off to PIN in the the Flex-Fuel sensor. |

you dont really have to take off the fender. We pulled mine out by removing one piece of the plastic liner in the wheel well.

There is no way you pulled that harness far enough out to pin it with the fender liner removed. It barely has enough wiggle room w/ the fender off.

We removed the ecm and were able to pin the tach signal wire without removing the fender, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to pin for the flex fuel.

You need to add a wire to the harness, so you need to pop off the connector and jam a wire into the back. There is no way I'd try it with the fender on, may save you some time, but you may pin the wrong one and fry your ECM.
Yea when we do the flex fuel ill probably just pull the fender off to be safe. |
Dustin you're going E85?? So you want to rape me once again next year!!!!

DSX Tuning (DSteck in the forum) converted my 1000hp GS to flex fuel. His flex fuel kit is only $250, plug and play. It's probably one the best things I've done to my car. Its great to be able to run pump gas, E85, or any combination of them without flashing tunes. You won't find E85 all the time available, you will need to run gas sometimes.
