Wiper motor for BBC install
 

Does anyone know what wiper motor fits the C4 chassis with a BBC install?

Check out the old Chevy Blazer wiper motors from the 70s/80s models. I believe we had another member who used one but he had to cut and reweld the mounting flanges to match up with the C4 bolt hole patern on the firewall.

I think you can use the stock wiper motor if you can use the smaller valve covers.

I have stock motor with the 502 valve covers.

I guess I will look a little closer, it did not appear the stock motor would fit when I dropped my BBC in last night.

Who's headers are those? Or what headers are those?

They are some type of shorty headers. They don't have any type of markings on them that I can tell.

Can you give more details on your big block build?

Did you move the steering rack?

Carb or Fuel Injected?

Any pictures?

I am still mocking up all the items that need to change to make this happen. I was planning to move the rack but if I can get the pulley to clear without moving the rack then it will stay.

I was planning to build a 516 CID fuel injected vette, that would clear under the stock hood. I want a sleeper in looks but it will not sound stock.

Plan = 516 CID (800-900 HP), Solid roller, FI, 4L80 trans, 4-link rear end (possibly ski it downs set-up), stock computer with custom 4" MAF, streetable. I want to run low 9's high 8's with a car that still has air and creature comforts but be able to compete in Hot Rod drag week Super Street class BB/NA.

I have been studying some BBC builds on Grumphy's web page, but am always looking for additional ideas.

I am pretty sure that my dads big block steering rack is in the stock location. He was told by Lingenfelter that the front crank pulley face was milled down a little to get it to fit. It uses a the short nose water pump.

The clearance between the steering rack and the pulley is REALLY tight.

He had to have the serpentine belt changed and I think they had to temporarily move the steering rack out of the way just to replace it. :ack:

Any details on your build? That intake looks very cool. LPE?

It's my dads car (1990). Yes, LPE did the conversion. They did 4 or 5 of these big block 540 cubic inch conversions back in the early 90's. The aluminum intake must have been custom built for LPE because I have never seen one like it. Car uses the stock hood. I have a stock 90 and I really don't notice the extra weight of the big block.
