Stumbled on to something using Magic Eraser
Saw on the forum where folks had used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for shoe scuffs on their sill panels, so I gave it a try.
Went from this https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...0e4e7d244a.jpg To this https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...17eb925c04.jpg While admiring how well it worked on the scuffs I noticed the area had also lost the shiny, greasy look its had since I bought the car a couple years ago. The gentleman I bought the car from really liked the Armor All shine! So I tried the Eraser on an inconspicuous spot at the back of the door panel just to see what it'd do to the overly glossy black trim.. an hour and a half later I had the whole interior done  Just a spray bottle with tap water to keep the Eraser wet, very light rubbing, and a couple microfiber towels all the black trim has the very low satin finish it should have. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...9c7a63ad2a.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...9eb43a417a.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...0218070b8b.jpg |
That really looks good. Thanks for the tip.

Yes it does! My wife has used them for water line stains in the pool for years.. never even thought about trying it inside a car. |
I'll have to give that a try. My door sills look just like that. Thanks for the tip.

I'll try that next week. Thanks for the tip.

I'll need to try that -- my sills could use a little cleaning up.
Thanks for the tip. |
Although you like the satin finish, you just removed everything from the vinyl/rubber. I'm not sure if the vinyl/rubber can dry out too much or not.
I love magic erasers. LOL :D |

I'm really tired and have no idea why what I typed was funny. My point was that you could cause it to crack over time.
I can start piling on the protectant, but now I'm just starting with a clean canvas. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...768845301a.jpg |
It even got rid of the annoying little marks the key fob had made below the ignition switch.

Now apply some 303 protectant an you should be fine. Rub the 303 in and it will not shine like Armor All, keeping the satin look
|
Those are some of the NICEST interior pics I've ever seen... GREAT job!
 |
