Saw on the forum where folks had used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for shoe scuffs on their sill panels, so I gave it a try.
Went from this
To this
While admiring how well it worked on the scuffs I noticed the area had also lost the shiny, greasy look its had since I bought the car a couple years ago. The gentleman I bought the car from really liked the Armor All shine! So I tried the Eraser on an inconspicuous spot at the back of the door panel just to see what it'd do to the overly glossy black trim.. an hour and a half later I had the whole interior done
Just a spray bottle with tap water to keep the Eraser wet, very light rubbing, and a couple microfiber towels all the black trim has the very low satin finish it should have.
I'm really tired and have no idea why what I typed was funny. My point was that you could cause it to crack over time.
I just thought you were being sarcastic about the greasy mess I was able to get rid of doing some good. I didn't get a before pictute of the rest of the interior because I didn't plan on doing what I did. The car pretty much lived in a garage for 14 years before I purchased it.. and as far as I can tell was Armor All'd monthly
I can start piling on the protectant, but now I'm just starting with a clean canvas.
