I just thought you were being sarcastic about the greasy mess I was able to get rid of doing some good. I didn't get a before pictute of the rest of the interior because I didn't plan on doing what I did. The car pretty much lived in a garage for 14 years before I purchased it.. and as far as I can tell was Armor All'd monthly
I can start piling on the protectant, but now I'm just starting with a clean canvas.
You can go to a lot of effort and expense to make it look different but you can never make it look better than what came out of the factory. Very nice indeed!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've had the black sticky goo on my steering wheel since I acquired stewardship of "Lilith" three years ago. I don't know if that stuff is caused by outgassing of the vinyl, a stearate bloom from the plasticizer, UV breakdown, or, as I suspect, too many greasy burgers and fries scarfed while driving. I've tried soap and water, mineral spirits, Goo-Gone and nothing seemed to work.
Thanks to you I stole my wife's eraser and THE CRAP CAME OFF!
I've been using 303Aerospace for years becuase it doesn't impart that shiny glare AA does to the vinyl, rubber, etc. I use it inside and out on my C5 and Mini.

I'm definitely giving the 303Aerospace a try, ordered it this morning.

Glad to hear you got rid of your problem with it. I had something similar with the inside rear hatch panel in my Mini, it had a sticky film that I've been fighting with for over a year. Nothing I was brave enough to use before trying the eraser did any good.
