Thoughts on Mighty Mouse Catch Can Install

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a new catch can set up. Currently running a Procharged 402 13psi with a small shot of nitrous. With the gas it makes 840rwp. My plan it to buy the PCV can with 3/8 check valve and two -10 fittings. I have two -10 fittings welded on two a set of stock valve covers. Plan on connecting them to the can and then the 3/8 check valve barb to the intake manifold port. Please let me know if two line from each valve cover is to much on not efficient. Also any other input would be great.

I have the MM PCV can, and did 10an fittings on each cover.

One cover runs to the can, the other cover runs to the blower inlet. The other side of the can goes to the intake right behind the TB.

This totally my oil consumption and the oil smell in the cabin while driving.

Does the driver side go to the can and passenger side go to the blower inlet? Thanks for posting you info.

CamminC5 04-12-2016 02:13 PM

Think I did passenger side to can for a shorter run of hose.

We need to get together sometime. I'm about an hour and a half from you. Me and my buddies come to Piedmont a lot.

Wait a minute were you there with John last weekend??

JeremiahsC5 04-12-2016 03:01 PM

Yes that was me. Did you have your car there? I guess my question would be does it matter which side you tap into. Was not sure if going through the engine one way or another mattered. I would say passenger to blower inlet would be closer. Then drivers side to can. Your the first person to say anything about using the blower inlet to pull through the system. I know other cans are set up that way.

I was talking to John when you were going to run your fastest pass (didn't put the time incase you don't want it advertised), and gave you a thumbs up when you came by afterwards. No my car is apart. Doing an autoswap.

I've got some pics in this thread that may help.

I hate that we did not get the chance to talk. Next time for sure. I looked at your pictures. Are you running a air filter on the valley cover. Trying to figure where your bringing air in?

Im running the exact same setup as Cammin. I was also able to tuck the can up front under intake piping out of the way which Im a big fan of.

No air filter. I don't really understand PCV and am not afraid to say it. David told me how to hook up the can and it works flawlessly.

I couldn't agree more his customer service is one of the best in the industry.

After doing some research. Correct me if I am wrong. On boosted applications there is no pull on the system through the catch can under boost. This would be the PCV mm can.

Sent a Message to the man. Hopefully he provide some incite...

Got it. Thanks for the info.

That is correct.

The draft can would have a bit of pull while in boost but a lot less crank case vacuum the rest of the time

neverstop 04-19-2016 03:39 PM

I talked to Mighty Mouse about this originally wondering if vaccum provided under WOT would be enough to help with ring seal but after running some math and talking to MM it was clear that any vaccum provided through the catch can to the crank case would be effectively negligable.

his can the way it is setup has no vaccum pull on the crank case under boost and switched to a fully open vent to vent pressure.
