Default Oil Catch Can

I am running a A&A Supercharger with a stock bottom end.

The car is a weekend car only and will never see the track.

Is an Oil Catch can necessary? If it is necessary, what is a good unit to purchase?

Thanks in advance.

It is advisable to run one and after trying a few of the popular ones, I find the Mighty Mouse can far superior to anything else I have tried.

I'm running the RX can on mine but do believe the MM can is better built plus they offer a couple of different designs for whatever needs you may have. I'll most likely be switching over to there setup. They definitely help keep oil out of your intake. I'll post a pick of what I removed from my can.

Why is your oil that color? Looks like some water is mixed in with the oil. I have a catch can as well, but my oil is, well, oil color.

Mighty Mouse has nice stuff. Anything you can do to prevent oil vapor from getting into intake manifold is a good mod. Flip your throttle body open and see if there is oil puddles in your intake now. If there is install a MM can setup.

Thanks for the great information. Where is the best place to mount the catch can with an A&A Supercharger?

I'd search to see where Mighty Mouse mounts his units.

I got his universal mount and attached it to the plastic thing under the fuse box. This required trimming the bezel around the battery/fuse box, but I'm happy with the install.
He has a gallery of installs but not a lot of options for C5's with centri's.

I mounted mine behind the battery. You can mount the universal mount back there. I used an oil cap AN adapter for the "dirty" side, then ran an AN 6 hose to the connection after the TB on the intake manifold for the vacuum source. You also need a clean air source for the crank case.. I ran a hose from the valley cover port to the air filter so that it can get clean air in that way.

I have some pictures around here somewhere.. I'll try to find them in a bit

Hey cammin off topic but are those Holley valve covers? I have a set but they won't work with stock ls6 coils will they? What coils do you have?
Thanks for any info. I like the look of them but am afraid I can't use them.

Yes they are holley covers. The LS1 coils will only bolt up to one hole (and they didn't look right). So I found some LS2 coils. Had my buddy weld 10an bungs on each cover and make a baffle. Then sprayed with rattle can crinkle paint.

The threads in the covers stripped out very easily. So I ended up installing heli-coils in every coil bolt hole.

Thanks for the info. I bought them a while back and was going to put them on but noticed the space between the mounting holes.
I'll see if I can source a set of coils somewhere. Thanks again.

Great location to mount the catch can. Bummer I have all my relays mounted there. I guess I will have to find another spot.

I put mine near the brake master using a hose clamp
