I purchased a 88 35th Anniv triple white Corvette #1205 in Oct 96 with 16K miles at the time.

When I got the car home (to FL) I proceeded to clean the car and found the Retail Installment Contract from Sovran Bank in Md with Lawrence L. as original buyer dated 09/29/88. APR was 13.00% Finance charge 16,911.95, Amt financed 31,529.17, Total payments 48,441.12, Total sales price 53,892.95

I just ran the total sales amt of 53802 past the inflation calculator and the 2016 result was $109,257 is what the original owner paid to own that car in todays dollars adjusted for inflation. He sold it to me for $7,200 in 1996. While in Md I dropped by a friend in Annapolis after purchase. The car died on the Interstate. Had it towed to another friends garage. Bad fuel pump from moisture in tank. Car was an outside car w/o ever being garaged. Fuel pump was taken out and cleaned of corrosion. Should have replaced with new while it was out of tank.

Fixed and drove it south to FL. Continued to have some die issues off & on. Ended up selling beautiful #20 of 28 to a collector in Eldon, MO.

That's the color of my '86. I might sell it for $56k. :)
