I think the next thing is a cage :D My wife was adamant about me NOT turning this one into a race car...but that is slowly happening :smash: The install took about 2 hours, taking my time (there were no instructions, but it is pretty straight forward). I bought it from Southern Car Parts, which is a vendor here on the forum

May the down force be with you, always

Ummm...

Pretty freakin' cool!

Wings are starting to do it for me. But not that one.

I DO, however, love the wheels and the Vader and Nurburgring shoutouts on the back.

Really?

Happy wife...happy life!

I prefer clean and simple, that scribble and whale tail just ruin it IMO. Your car, enjoy.
Didn't think I could like the wheels but they are quite sharp.

Sorry man, not my cup of tea. Imo it ruined the car. The nice thing is I don't have to like it and my opinion doesn't mean anything. So enjoy it.

Functional aero doesn't "look good" to many people. More NASCAR fans in America than F1 watchers.

Not to fight your choice, but an F1 wing on an F1 car is nothing in common to one on a street car. Will you remove the passenger seat next? Windshield, windows... it is not an F1 car. Anyway, enjoy it. That's all that matters.

Do you have R7's on all corners to actually put that thing to use?

ErikwithAK01 09-26-2017 11:22 PM

I like wing cars, most people don't. Almost everything I put into my car is function over form as well. I grew up enjoying cars with lots of crazy aero, that was my reference, so no need to be so triggered or whatever. Besides, mine is actually slowly transitioning INTO a track toy. I don't know many people that have the kind of money that requires to do it all at once.

Not triggered, just curious. IMO the C5 needs real tires, a BBK and brake cooling long before a wing.

If my car needs a wing I'll mount it, but I know it won't need it for very long time.

xtremeyolks 09-26-2017 11:50 PM

Looks like you'll need a good size front splitter to offset that wing :)

Vetteman Jack 09-26-2017 11:55 PM

Not a mod I will ever do, but it is your car and if the wing helps you in your goal for a complete package, then congrats on the install.

ErikwithAK01 09-27-2017 01:01 AM

Yeah, I realized my extrior modifications are already almost done, so I'm just gonna finish that out before I build the internals more extensively. I plan on either getting an undertray extension to add to the splitter that is already there, or getting a black dog speed shop bumper, but I gotta get a little more over time at work for that :toetap: BDSS stuff is redic expensive.

Efx 09-27-2017 08:05 AM

Love race car inspired look and aggressive aero. Looks good OP!

charger21 09-27-2017 08:29 AM

Only problem is its not bolted to the frame of the car. When you get the front splitter, it should be attached to a undertray that is also bolted to the frame of the car. If you are just going for the "race car look", then you don't need to do all that.

02BlownZ06 09-27-2017 08:38 AM

That's a mod that takes some stones to add to your car. I think it looks cool, but I probably wouldn't add to mine. Don't you have to be going like 150 mph or more for it to be functional?

ErikwithAK01 09-27-2017 08:56 AM

I can feel it going straight at 70mph.
