Do you know about when Sting Ray changed to Stingray? Always thought it was one word. |
I only dream of being in a place to one day be able to constantly trade into a new Corvette every few months lol. God Bless them.
For now? I'll have to stick with my ancient artifact I picked up from you once upon a time... https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...9b3da61e42.jpgDo they even make parts for this model any more? Lol https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...b03d43c4f9.jpg these threads are getting tougher to read every week without imagining myself in a new Z06 convertible Mike... Thanks? Lol |

Do you know about when Sting Ray changed to Stingray? Always thought it was one word. "The second generation (C3) of the Sting Ray had a body that was styled after the Mako Shark II concept car and it was in production until 1982. C3 coupes were the first ones to have T-tops. In 1969 the name was changed to what we are familiar with today, Stingray, all one word. ’69 was also the only year that C3 buyers could choose between side pipes or rear exhaust with chrome tips." Love that Barrett Jackson photo, thanks Mike

Great post and wonderful pictures - once again! My favorite one this week is the ubiquitous pretty green C3 - which looks wonderful under any lighting conditions. The first runner-up is the photo of G. Gordon Liddy with his early 1990s C4. Who can forget the "H20GATE" license plate on it? I wonder if he still owns it. He must be 87 or 88 years old by now, if I recall correctly. He used to have a great talk show about 20 years ago. His voice always reminded me of "Maxwell Smart" as played by actor Don Adams. The second runner-up is the back end of the 1967 with the NY tag on it. Keep these Sunday posts coming! I know how hard you work to find the material, but it is well worth it. |
Awesome thread today, brother! I still love the old photos and ads, like the one with the Great Dane in it!
|
My favorite is the license plate "C DA USA"
