So are there any harness mount options in the aftermarket for a Z06?

Vetteworks sells harness mounts for the C7. You do need competition seats for them to work properly.

Second the officer could not give you a ticket for wearing just a 6point without a helmet and HANS. The law specifies seat belts that meet a federal safety standard must be worn, not Factory seatbelts. He was messing with you.

The officer could have given him a ticket for not wearing a seat belt, and it would be up to the driver to prove, in court, that his harnesses met FMVSS. Which they don't. So he'd lose.

The "helmet and HANS" thing was BS on the officer's part.

First off, you dont need a helmet and a hans with a 6 point to be near the safety of the factory 3 point and airbags. ANY properly wore safety belt will prevent the wearer from impacting the airbag in a collision.

He was correct in that by the "letter of the law" I was not in compliance as the 6 point I was wearing is absolutely not DOT compliant.

The statement "ANY properly wore safety belt will prevent the wearer from impacting the airbag in a collision." ignores the fact that a basal scull fracture is caused by rapid deceleration caused by a 6 point. Yes you wont touch the airbag, but you will break your neck in the process, its much safer to have the stock harness stretch and have the airbag slow you.

Having tested it both ways, the airbag is defiantly easier on the neck.

Had to agree with the officer where we both smiled and chuckled. Heck I ride a sport bike and wear a helmet every day anyway.
