1980 Clutch G Clips
 

1980 Clutch G Clips ... are there supposed to be washers on both sides of the linkage before the G clips ... the book shows washes on the transmission side but only shows cligs on the stick side of the linkage ... should there be washers on both ends of the linkage ?

I do not use any washers when I install the 'G' clips on the shifter linkage.....or the clutch linkage on the firewall side. The only place I may use a flat thin washer is the 'G' clip for the clutch push rod where it attaches to the clutch pedal.

Common sense DOES come into play where IF I go to put the 'G' clip in and I can see that the tension on it is not going to be correct...THEN I will add a thin washer. But 99.9999% of the time I do not need to put flat washer on the areas they go.
