Z51 cooling rings

I found something called Z51 front brake rotor cooling rings in the trunk of my new to me 14 Z51 premier. Does anyone have any ideas? Track use only? Any benefits?

Thanks

They are for the track. You don't need them for daily driving.

Don't even need them on the track honestly. My Premier Edition was used and the cooling rings where no where to be found.
In theory they block off the gaps in the OEM (sort-of-fake) 2 piece rotor design to force air into the rotor vanes. Aftermarket (real / true) 2 piece rotors don't require them so why GM went this route is a mystery to me. GM changed the rotor design at some point (2016?) and eliminated the need for rings.

The original Z51 rotors were a very poor experiment and the rotor cooling rings were basically a stop gap because they were known to fail. Luckily, they were "redesigned" for 2016+ and replacements wree covered under warranty for those of us with 2014 & 2015 Z51 models.

What do the replacement rotors look like? Wonder if mine were done? Bought it used.

Thoughts?

The replacements are 1-piece vs. the original pseudo 2-piece design.
