My splitter is 4" from the ground to the bottom of the front part of the splitter.
That is 4" of ground clearence to a HARD, not bendable like the rubber air damn.
The splitter sticks out to the nose of the car. i.e. you will hit every thing, sleeping policeman, dips entering a driveway, crubbs. it will get heavely scratched, and may crack. That is the down side.
But it does look cool
Mine is not ACI but Corvette Race body Overlay. note pop rivits to hold it on. I can stand on my splitter 200 lbs of me and not brake or bend it.
My car is going in for paint, so I'm looking at getting one of these also. Just wondering how it will handle the daily driving as I already drag the air dam on everything, and I'm cautious and drive diagonally.
Seems like there's mixed opinions on how much abuse the ACI chin spoiler can handle. Does anyone make a urethane front spoiler?
Reguardless, the ACI chin spoiler looks mean and sexy on any C5, and love the look. Just wondering if my car is a good candidate.
I really like mine but it is prone to stone chips which I stay ahead of with "touch-up 123". I changed my parking habits so that I only reverse in and I don't drive on any unfamiliar roads.

I have an aci chin spoiler and my car is lowered 2 inches.
I also have an aci hi-rise hood and an aci rear spoiler.
I think they add alot to the looks of the car without it being outlandish.
You will like how the chin spoiler looks on your car.
I agree with some of the folks here about nosing into a parking spot with a curb in front. I guarantee you will hit the front of the car unless you make a very conscious effort to stop sooner than you think you should.
I love mine! Do I scrap it every now and then sure. Have I pulled to far into a parking spot and cracked it? Yup, only once then I learned how to park the car nose or I back in. (BTW that was a $250 fix and repaint but it needed the repaint anyway from 3 years of rock chips) Would I do it again? HELL YA!
Once you learn the new boundaries of the front end and how to get in and out of parking lots it becomes second nature.
They look great but it's not a question of IF you will hit something with it but WHEN you will.
I consider myself extremely careful BUT I have kissed parking curbs twice with mine and will soon take it off, have all the nicks and rock chips removed, and repainted. But even though it can be a pain sometimes I still would recommend the ACI UNLESS you are lowered. I can't imagine how it would scrape if your C5 is lowered.
Mine's a DD. You'll be surprised at how much abuse the spoiler can take. I scrape the hell out of it on a regular basis, and other than the paint scratched off the bottom (can't see it anyway) and some rock chips from the road, I've had no issues at all. My temps haven't gone up either.
I will say this, anyone who has a habit of parking their car nose-in, will destroy a chin spoiler in short order.
with this 90%
It will take alot of abuse. Count on it getting scraped up. But, most are not visible unless you are looking under the car. It will change most folks driving style as you will need to enter and exit just about all driveways and parking lots at an angle to avoid scraping it. My coolant temps did go up slightly after installing it. Probably on the order of ~5-10 degrees F.
I hated the rock chips I got very soon after installing the spoiler.
I hated not being able to get on an alignment rack or a four post lift.
I hated the temps rising a bit more than normal when sitting in traffic.
I hate that stoopid curb I hit...
The spoiler has been off for several months now. I've not made up my mind what I'm going to do about it. I may use it for shows etc...
As someone else said you have to adjust the way you park, rear first, and alway careful on dips in the road. Overall I would do it again in a heart beat. I love the way it complements the looks of the C5. Regarding the higher temperatures. if you remove the plastic around your fog lights and add some Z06 screens, you'll get all the cool air you'll need.
I like the idea someone mentioned earlier about using the chin spoiler for shows and other special events. How easy is it to take the spoiler on and off for events and for towing/alignment racks and such. Is it pretty quick and easy to remove/install?
Just purchased mine today. I have always loved them, but I have a C5 coupe that is lowered on Coil-overs. It is very low! I am willing to take the chance, I know I will be cursing up a storm in the future as scraping them seems unavoidable. That with LSD doors, and the ACI side skirts are awesome! GO FOR IT!!!
yours is the first non body colored spoiler ive seen, i like it

Yes, but if you look closer at the finished pics, he painted the spoiler black, and his car is blue.

Mine car is lowered considerably, the lip is about 3" off the ground, and it has survived the last 2 years. That includes 3 trips to Bowling Green, 1 trip to Virginia and Maryland, and one trip to Florida...in addition to the usual local driving. It's not a daily driver, but it isn't a trailer queen either. I probably have at least 20k miles with the spolier on.
I scrape it on driveways often, I've hit several road gators with it, and still it survives.
I've not noticed any heat issues, but I have a low temp Tstat and reprogrammed fans, so it never sees over 200* coolant temp.
