Question for you guys... can I just take off the OEM exhaust and have the Zo6 installed on my 05 C6. All I want to add is the mufflers; with the baffles. Thank for the info.

It isn't just plug and play. The Z06 exhaust is 3" and the C6 is 2.5 inch. You can, however, replace the 05 mufflers with the 08 NPP mufflers. See Gene Culley at GMPartsHouse.com for the NPP mufflers.
I took mine to a muffler shop, and he cut the z06 muffler pipe close to the muffler, where it tapers to 2.5 inches, and welded the stock pipe from the original mufflers on it. Looks professional, sounds great, cost $100 for the welding. Then get the Npp in a box(forum member), which will give you the control to open and close muffler valves at any time while driving.

The new B+B Fusion 2.5" setup is a direct fit.
Bolt them on and your good to go.
Of course you will need some type of vacuum system to actuate them.
I use engine vacuum on the setup on my 2005 coupled with my Ultimate Exhaust Commander with user selectable rpm control for the opening and closing of the valves. I get full open and can also select full closed and also whatever RPM I want the Butterflies to open at automatically. Switching between full open and the closed modes is done with the wireless remote.
I also sell my Exhaust Commander All-in-1 retrofit kit that has the self contained vacuum pump in a small box that goes in the storage area.
B+B Exhaust also has a control setup that uses engine vacuum, its available if you purchase the B+B Fusion mufflers. You run a vacuum hose from the engine to the control solenoid and vacuum accumulator, and have the wireless control to choose open and close on the valves.
The Bi-Mode system really is a cool setup.
I love mine!

yes, cut the mufflers off two inches from the end. have them welded up, install a controller and youare done. it is not as loud as i thought it would be but it is enough. i paid $100 for my mufflers and $80 for the install. no 3" to 2.5" adapter necessary.
So can you use the LG long tube headers for the ls3 and the z06 mufflers with a pipedreams M2W on a '08 c6? What other pieces are needed to make it work?
I want the power (even more than the stock z06 manifold will give) and sound, but need to please my blushing bride too.
I have the entire zo6 system, manifolds to mufflers. i love it...also have the npp in a box kit to control the valves and it's great. i did notice a gain, not sure of the horsepower difference but i intend to dyno in the near future. only wish i dynoed before, completely stock. if anyone wants to check it out in person in the socal area, just let me know. One thing though, the zo6 mufflers on my car still doesn't make an american exhaust note, my coworkers thought it sounds distinctly european which is ok by me, it still sounds really good, just may not be the tone everyone wants (little bit higher pitched). Flaps closed, it's dead silent/vacuum cleaner like as my stock c6 system was.
