I heard on the radio that out in Utah and Colorado that there is a big deposit of oil shale that could produce 1 trillion barrels of oil. Total cost would be @ 30.00 a barrel. Not sure what that would translate to a gallon of gas. Are gov. representative need to tell the tree molesters to move to cuba and start providing American oil to the masses. Tell Saudi Arabia to go **** themselves.
Those are 'Stragtic oil reserves" in case of war.
Just like the oil fields off the costs of Virgina and North Carolina.
The oil fields in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico are now just being tapped, but they are 5-6 miles deep. Dont know how much oil is in this field as the sonar equipment used to measuere can not get an accurate reading. Or something like that.
Plus Canada has huge huge untaped oil shale reserves .
if you can get under the car you can change a sensor in about 20 minutes
I keep hearing how easy it is to change a 02 sensor, but:o I don't have a clue even how to find it. Can anyone explain exactly how to do it , I will give it a try.

Here, this article is not on a C5, but a GM is a GM (almost). It will basically be the same for an O2 sensor.
There will be four of these (1 on each pipe before and after your catalitic convertors).
Oil change cost me $40. 7 quarts of Mobile 1 and 1 AC Delco Filter at Walmart.
Of course, my labor is free.
Mine cost me $135. I paid $32 for the oil and filter and charged myself my usual labor fee. Just moved the money from one pocket to the other and then went in the house and had a wine cooler.
Ouch! My dealer charged $450 for 5 yr./ 60,000 mi. changes on the new Z. I went in at 1,000 mi., they covered that one even though it was early and they had lifting pucks ready (a good sign, mine were already in).
Many, many thanks to you guys that I even know about lifting pucks, not to mention holding out for forum dealer pricing. Now to go check out those O2 sensors.

Good info posted above on this, but I'll add to be careful to note how they are connected before you take them off. I seem to remember the rears being crossed.
we should all be outraged at price of oil and gas and voice that to politicans so they will work to get more refineries in this country and explore more and produce more oil in the US and pursue alternate fuels other than ethanol for the future, you young guys don't know how reasonable gas used to be back in the day... and exxon, saudi etc., made good money to boot. you just shouldn't say oh well that is what I have to pay and not protest to your government it will only get worst if you don't speak out....ask any oldtimer and they can educate you. proud to be and american and served my country in military but very unhappy with our government for their inaction for the american people.
Everybody listen to the oldtimer. He knows what he's talking about. I proudly served, my wife currently serves, and so did our families. Needless to say we love this country but we are totally pissed about getting used by oil companies and nations and our own nation is not stepping up to defend us now.
Yes we do I hear in Alberta.... More than Saudi I think I heard.
Toque
Alberta is second to Saudi Arabia. Bet there are also two other oil producing provinces as well (Sask, Man.). There are no shortages of oil or NG reserves. We don't need the Arabs, It justifies the huge tax and massive profits that our governments skim off the top. With all the oil that NA has we could easily be driving around paying $1 a gallon and holding a
a giant middle finger to the Arabs.

I get my oil changed at my local dealer. $11.99
I supply the oil/filter, and they supply the lift. There are not to many dealers that don't have oil change specials going on all the time, and most will be glad to cut you a deal if you supply the goods.
I just changed the oil in my wifes vette and my pick up while watching F1 on Speed.
Thinking about my time, shop time, shop fees, Yes $100-$120 would be about right for a dealership to change a car with M1.
Unfortunitly the Alberta / Manitoba oil shale is not light sweet crude as in the Mid east. It is the heavy crude oil as on the north slope and oil shale. Not easy to refine but it can be refined.
Light sweet crude oil can 'almost' be put into an Abrams tank and the tank will run.
