The missing rebate topic showed up on the C6 forum and I've added a link to this topic so I'm sure the list will be growing .

Alright guys,

I've spoken to Brian and he told me to let you guys know whats up. I'm going to post a copy of the email that he sent to me. I WILL be editing parts of it because it is personal information, and it doesnt need to be let out.

I told him that he needs to treat this like an unresolved dispute thread. He has given me his word that each and every one of of the members who have been wronged, WILL be taken care of. He also wanted me to let everyone know that according to him NO-ONE is waiting for product. It is ONLY the rebates.

He said he is soo sick over this, he's just kinda hung his head in shame. BUT.....He has vowed to take care of everyone.

The reason he is selling parts on other sites is because he NEEDS to feed his family. There is not one person on here that is about to loose their home or car over 200 bucks. He came through on ALL product. But his Pioneer rep screwed him.

So due to all of the bad publicity, he has been forced to sell elsewhere until this is sorted out. Which if you think about it is kinda sad..

Everyone keeps badmouthing him over the rebates which is NOT allowing him to make profits. No profits equals slower rebate returns, because he cant pull money out of his personal account.

The man delivered on his product....He fell short on the rebate. Lets give the guy a chance to get on his feet and redeem himself...

I am going to begin to sell some selected stock parts in the F/S section. A portion of the proceeds of these sales will start going to the OLDEST rebate first. I will continue to do so until either everyone is paid off, or the rebates begin. All I ask, is when the members who get their money AND rebates, they contact me and do what they have been preaching and return the money I have given out.

This is NOT a loan for Brian of ANY kind.. He owes me NOTHING. This is me as an enthusiest, trying to help out another enthusiest

I encourage some of you guys do the same. Maybe with enough paying forward, we can help bail out a member and his family... I'm sure we've got 10 grand worth of parts laying around our garages.

Were judged from above by our "Actions". Lets all get together and try to make this right..

Remember: He is NOT sitting on this money, he is waiting just like you..

what had happened was my initial rep dropped the ball, and hadnt had me fill out all the paperwork i needed to be considered an "authorized seller" but yet he told me i was, and to sell as many units as possible. he assured me all the customers would get their rebates and that there was no issues..... well looks like he was just bullsh*tt!ng me to make the $$$. for selling over 50 units pioneer still owes me $2000 personally.... but im not complaining about that. my goal is to get everyone their $200 back... if i had the money i would refund everyone out of pocket, but unfortunately i dont have an extra $10,000 sitting around!

my rep ended up getting fired last week, and now im working with his replacement to try to get everything fixed. once they get it fixed, ill post up on the forum that they finally fixed it, and that the rebate checks will start going out. until then im just trying to sell on other forums to make ends meet!!

its a shame, but nothing i can really do about it. everyone thinks im AWOL, but im still here, just nothing new to post up. wish there was something new to tell everyone, but there isnt. i talked with the moderators and told them the deal, so at least they know whats going on. people act like im some crook who tried to scam everyone. i would never do such a thing, and its unfortunate that my business has fallen BIG TIME because of this. ive had no choice but to move onto other forums just so i can continue and pay the bills... not really sure if the corvetteforum will ever work out again, but ill def. try again once this is over. if it doesnt work out, then it will be time to move on permanently!

really do appreciate your email though, kinda sucks being in this alone, and its cool someone actually understands the position im in. all this over some stupid a** rebates!! least i learned not to do ANY rebates ever again!!

def. keep in touch! and like i said, thanks for sticking up for me. if you want to let them know you talked with me, and whats going on again... go for it.

thanks man

I have an Idea.

Why dont those who are owed rebates get "store credit" instead.

For example a Bezel modification that costs $300 may only cost the $100 to the person owed. Brian wins because all he is out is labor.

Asking him to return cash he doesnt have because of being misled is your right. However, Brian has been a long time forum member and I would be perfectly happy with Store Credit if I had a rebate missing.

Anyone like that idea?

That's nice of you but I don't get why Brian told you you tell everybody?

Why doesn't he just post up and/or email everybody himself?

IMHO

I don't sense that the people involved are looking to tear Brian apart.

As in any business deal where problems arise they are simply looking for communication and answers.

It is the lack of communication that escalates the problem.

IMHO that communication has more credibility when it comes directly from the principles as opposed to through a 3rd party.

That said at least the guys know a little more then they did before thanks to Jeff's mediation.

Brian's a great asset to the CF and it's members and I sincerely wish him the best in getting these issues resolved.

Rebates are always a PIA.

Hope it works out for all.

Brian was a pleasure to deal with so I don't have an issue giving him the chance to work through this. Heck I would be all for Brian applying 200 off towards my next purchase from him, in particular the AVIC-F500BT.

if that's truly the case; then this does alleviate some of the stress in this situation.

And Mfgr's reps.... they'll lie straight to your face! Shame that this happened; though it's between Brian and the new rep.

i have never bought from brian , BUT when i was doing my own custom bezel he did give me suggestions on how to do it and what products he uses to build them and instructions . so i have all the faith in the world in him . saying that REBATES suck i have had numerous companies that offer rebates and when you file for them there is always something missing , everyone needs to back off on brian and give him a chance , forget about the rebate , you were going to buy the product anyway , so if you never get the 200 you still have what you wanted , and IF pioneer gets things fixed where Brian can get the rebate money you will get yours and it will be like a stimulus check
so kudos to brian for hanging in there , and i hope things will work out for him .

good luck Brian

Isn't this what I said in the beginning? I felt that pioneer screwed something up. I plan on buying from Brian in the future still. I don't expect HIM to refund money just becuase PIONEER f*cked things up. I want my $200 as much as everyone else does...but that $200 isn't killing me not having it in the bank.

Jeff, thanks for passing along the information from Brian. I would have preferred that Brian post to the thread to let everybody know what was going on.

I already had the impression that the situation involved Brian being left holding the bag by Pioneer and was in hopes he'd share the details here and that, if he did so, most of his customers would be understanding and patient.

Brian, if you are monitoring this thread, I think your customers awaiting rebates (listed in the first post in this thread) will work with you and just expect some regular updates on the status of things.

Jim, I'm not 100% sure if he is monitoring this thread, but I did call him today and let him know his email was well received. I did urge him to make a post letting everyone know he was still working towards to correction.

I have put aside a stack of stock parts that should sell quite easily. I would like that money to go towards the customers that are out the rebates.

How should I handle that?

I thought about the hassles with the re-collection, and came to the conclusion that rather than re-collecting the money when the rebates start rolling in, I would like the recipients to paypal the money to a mod for the St Judes collection. This way its a win win in for everyone.

I am just hoping this situation doesnt continue to smear Brain.

Jeff -

While I think it's very admirable what you are doing, I don't think it's fair to "suggest" that the many people owed $200 just give the money away. Many of us budget our money very closely, and everyone's situation is different. My wife and I make annual charitable contributions to organizations that are near and dear to us (American Heart Association, Stroke Research and the Red Cross), and the $200 rebate is, for us, money that has other earmarks in our budget.

I suspect others on the rebate waiting list have other very good uses intended for that money as well... rent, groceries, gas, etc. While I hope that some money can be directed to a great cause like St. Judes, I don't think that there should be any suggested donation or other pressure injected into this already complicated, unfortunate and emotional C5Kidd rebate situation.

I still hold out expectation and hope that the situation is resolved in a way that gets everyone their rebate, gets Brian's name cleared, and helps get him back into good member standing with the C5 community. Like others have said, I also feel he's a good guy caught up in a situation that's spiraled out of control. I also genuinely thank and admire you for the way you're stepping up to help out -- it's truly a classy thing for you to be doing. I'll be more than happy to recommend and support him once he's back on his feet and our original transaction has been completed in the terms I agreed upon when I authorized my CC to be charged to his company.

He did not mean give our rebates away. He meant the following:

He will sell parts, and pay back people that are owed rebates. Once we actually get the rebate (which means we will have the $200 that he gave us, and $200 for the rebates), that we just give the $200 he gave us to charity.

Oh, that makes sense -- I totally read that wrong. Thanks for the clarification. And in that light, the idea is great.
