I regret my supercharger.
Paid 2500 to have it installed
several hundred at the gm dealer to clear up some codes and problems the original shop couldnt
2500 to have it fixed at MTI

Then , it just ran too hot for the road courses I run on in the south. My fault for not fully researching.

Then paid about 1800 to have it uninstalled.

Sold it for 1000 less than paid,

So I have almost 10000 in it and I had it for 1 year and 5000 miles.

I will never do FI on a non FI car again, as I had problems on my last car too (although they weren't costly, just a PITA to correct, as I did all my own work on that one).

And then, in my typical fashion, I decided that I should just get a dedicated track car, but after I removed the supercharger. I should have left it on after all!

Laying out a mod plan in advance is key. A plan that allows you to halt additions , continue additions or return to stock at will -was a prudent decision IMO.

Lay out a plan, a plan to best suited your goal.

When your car becomes work you know you've gone too far

I overdid it w/ my current targa Z06 thinking I wanted a pristine show car. I'm a pickey person and being that nothing is ever "perfect" I was constantly fiddling w/ all the modifications and looking at orange peel and wet sanding etc. etc. etc.

After going through all of that I realized I enjoy hopping in my truck, turning the key, and driving more than I do fiddling... and I damn sure hate waxing the paint and polishing the wheels.

So... I've sold off much of the mods and am considering selling the car for a C6Vert

Well my only significant mods are a suspension tweek consisting of Hotchkis sways and Koni FSD shocks. I don't regret these for a moment!

Default Mods make the car.

I have 1 regret with the headers. Wish I would have bought my currert headers first. Other than that, It's the perfect package for me.

No regrets on my vette, but I've learned to be more careful. I think very carefully about noise, vibration, and harshness. My first Camaro was heavly modded. Each mod by itself, didn't seem that bad. Sure it was a little different from the way it was before the mod, but I would get use to it. However, after two years, I started feeling tired of driving the car when not flogging it. Then I drove a stock F-body and realized how much each small decrement in NVH hadd added up to.

So this time around, I'm staying conservative. Mod for more performance, but not for max performance. Things I've learned:
* loud exhausts become annoying when commuting, especially if you're tired at the end of long day. Quite exhauts can make good power.
* Big cams with a heavy lope sound cool and are blast when you get on them, but a balanced cam with smooth idle and good low end torque and solid midrange are more suited to the urban environment I drive.
* Gears make the car feel really fast, but I like a lazy overdrive. I can always drive in 5th if I don't want a lazy overdrive and want to slice through highway traffic. I add gear until 6th gear is 2000 rpm @ 75 mph.
* Be careful when adding solid/poly motor mounts, transmission mounts, or suspension bushing. They can quickly add up to a lot of NVH.

What headers did you first get and what do you have now?

Modding reminds me of S.T.D.'s. Most people go too far. It hurts. And most wish they hadn't of done it in the first place...............

Probably not. I've typically do only a select few performance mods to my cars. As far as C6's go, probably most on the road are largely unmodified, other than floor mats and stuff like that. Most owner's are not on Corvette Forum....

On my last Vette I went a little too far with mods. Now I have a 08 Z06, and the only things I plan to do is a KillerBee Intake, which I installed today, and a tune. Those two things should give me an easy 50hp. I intend to stop then.....I intend to....I really do.

My regrets is 1 the vendor who installed the mods Pro- Charger and spec-twin clutch the clutch is horrible, the tune sucks, I could go on and on, my issues are picking the right vendor/installer and communicating what you want the car to be, ie track car or daily driver, the car now sits with about 1000 miles on the mods and it really sucks driving without A/C,a horrible "chatery Clutch" and a totally unreliable car

After being very happy with the results of putting on some bolt-ons, like Corsa exhuast, headers, CAI, DR's and tuning, I do regret messing with and wasting money on add-on ported intake manifolds which was last on my list and now realize why it is on the bottom of most bolt-on folks lists too. Its best left for the h/c crowd. I found the stock ported intake performance worthless, then found the LS6 intake only a hair better than worthless and the Fast not worth the money for its minor gains. The good news is I lost only a bit of money selling them off.

Woohoo, i wanna some flames too for my next mod, wonder if I'll regret that.

I am just starting on my mods. So far:

Z06 spoiler (black)
GM Splashguards
DSV Center console
DSV E-brake boot

I will be putting in the MGW shifter (after it arrives) and DSV Shifter boot after I receive the new shifter **** (should be here on Monday) and have DSV replace the leather.

I have the dash inserts and rear bumper inserts to install, but will be waiting for less hunid weather (it has been really humid here in South Texas this winter) to finish this.

Then I am at a crossroads. Do I go ahead and get my steering wheel redone by DSV, then the seats or do I go ahead and get new wheels? I have refrained from any engine enhancements (visual or performance) because the IA (that's Irish Accountant (otherwise known as the wife) wants me to wait until the warranty has expired.
You're pushing the envelope, you sure those "mods" haven't negated your warranty?
