Default Retro fitting of brake booster/servo.

Hi my '71 manual SB has no booster, I'd like to fit one.

Are their kits available etc?

Do you need much more than a booster and master cylinder rod?

Forgive me if this is a simple question I'm a Brit :o

You don't need a retro kit.. Use the stock stuff. It's not a real hard job and it will be one of the best add-on items you can put on your car.

I did a post on this about two months or so ago.. here is the link to this thread. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks, as we'd say in London, 'you're a diamond mate'

Quick question though, is the pushrod from the pedal to the master cylinder different or will a standard pushrod fit the booster?

I know we already talked by PMs but just in case anyone is looking for the answer. There are 2 push rods between the pedal and master cyl. The new booster will come with rod from booster to the pedal installed, then just add the clevis. The rod from booster to master usually comes with the new booster also, depending on the master cyl there is a short and a long rod. The short measures 2.455" and the long 3.751".
( I made a rod 3.885 for the car I was working on because I felt the stock rod was a little short.)
