The OP will have the real story I'm sure, but I'm thinking they'd call in an arson investigator to determine if it was truly an accident, or just somebody trying to get an insurance company to pony up for their financial hardships... I read something about that recently, where many more people do this when the economy is down the crapper.

I tend to doubt that anyone on this forum would stoop to such a level.
10 points for Chev Cust Service for stepping up to the plate right away to start looking into this. Obviously this could be a seriously important issue to all of us.
Exactly Who invited this gentleman onto YOUR property ..??
That kind of thing usually doesn't bode well for an Insurance Claim
Any one of those groups would have a valid interst in what started the fire. The choices are to cooperate with them, or not cooperate and have them wondering what you're trying to hide. With insurance, the policy or state law may actually require you to cooperate or not get a claim paid.

Put another way, what was the interest in the individual who was there - in other words, why, or what was it that triggered the interest?
I also find it interesting that the OP has not responded to any of these questions - apologies if I missed something. Don't think so though, there is only one post in this thread from the OP.

So how about some answers?
Hmmm.... Interesting.
Geoff Allen from GM contacted him and then the OP disappeared.
GM coverup? Did GM find the guy and make him stay quiet? Is he missing? Where is the car? The GM Secret Police came and took him and his car away!

Just because a person might be part of a certain group. Have an
interest in a certain topic as many others does not mean in
desperate times, do something out of the ordinary. I can
see why an insurance would cover all angles before coughing up
any money. Good business sense.
The car was backed out of the garage and covered at 5pm, the fire occurred the next day. I don't even carry full coverage, only had 900 miles. Any ideas or help are greatly appreciated, thanks

Did you call the fire dept.? Did they have a normal investigator look at the situation or was it specifically an arson investigator? Got any pics?

Did Geoff Allen from GM contact you?
Why didn't you have full coverage on a C6? What condition was the car PRIOR to the fire?
