Default ? on world S/R heads SBC

I have a new set of World S/R torquer cylinder heads.
They are 202/160 Manley Street Flo stainless steel valves (1-piece forged, with undercut stems and swirl-polished heads, 67CC chambers and 170CC runners.
525 springs, screw in studs and guide plates.
Anyway what are your thoughts on these.

Unmodified, they're exactly what the claim to be - "Stock/Replacement" heads that flow a bit better than the stock "camel hump" factory heads. They're intended primarily for racing classes where a "stock" head is required by the rules. Good for around 1 HP/CID at the flywheel. They do have a lot of "meat" for porting and respond very well.

so does that mean they are 375 hp heads and why is the price so high for just a lack luster performance?

With the right cam, that power is possibly just within reach on a 355. It would have to be a pretty crankin' cam.

It's not lackluster performance - they're just intended for a very specific purpose: racing classes that require a stock head. They're excellent castings with excellent hardware, and as noted they've got a TON of room for porting. To get the full value of the heads, they need that porting investment. Can always be done later, of course

They're a decent head, perhaps slightly better than the old 2.02 fulie heads. I think you mentioned you have 882's in another thread. They would definately be a step up from those.

I would recommend a Vortec head if you're on a tight budget, but we've had that discussion. . .

A buddy of mine stumbled into a set cheap and we used them on his 327 with a little pocket porting. They easily ran high 12's/110 mph in his '65 on regular street tires. Not the greatest stuff, but as mentioned they are a decent starting point for a smaller engine.

I had a set that were fully ported and sold them when I picked up the Pro1 heads. The guy who bought them told the Dyno operator he wanted 375 hp out of the engine. Dyno guy had to inform him he was at 413 before they tuned the engine.
Those heads ported WILL FLOW and make HP you want with no problem.

I think I have came to the conclusion that my car runs good enough that I really don't want to tear the engine apart.
So I am probably going to just sell them.
