Fuel or What?
Hello to all,
Today I experienced a strong sulfur odor from under my "77" ..
It came after a spirited ride on the interstate as I stopped for a traffic
light.
Could it be the new winter formulated fuel or the "cat" going south?
Engine is running strong, fresh tune-up ,etc..
Upon starting cold, there is a strong gas smell in the exhaust.....
I believe that odor is because the choke is working as it should..
Everything is good except the sulfur odor after using passing gear and
"being on it".
Any suggestions are welcome.

When you are running a rich mixture the catalytic converter is more likely to emit a sulfur smell from the build up of unburned fuel. Could be your tune up adjustments or the converter has seen better days.

Carb is set for max vacuum.........air filter new.......
timing set @ 12 degrees btdc HEI dist.
I think I will try different fuel.......the one with the least sulfur.
any suggestions?
