Default DIC pod removal

Ive got an 05. Do the pods for the DIC buttons come out on there own or do I need to remove the whole assembly around the steering wheel?

You have to at least undo the cluster so you can get to the 3 screws that hold the pod. Info and pics at the beginning of this DIY:

If you're trying to remove the silver plastic pods you need to remove the entire assembly. If you're just trying to remove the buttons you can get to them by just pulling the pods away from the dash and then carefully removing the screws that hold the button assemblies in place. Either way, if you use the link that Rick provided you can't miss.

And something plastic is much more likely to break if it is cold where you are working. The two pods are one piece with the pieces above and below the instruments.
