Have a 2011 coupe use only on weekends, not my daily driver. After reading here about battery tenders thinking bout getting one, the ctek's look good cant decide between the 3300 or 7002. Also where would you connect it directly to the battery or according to the directions on top of fuse box where it was not clear to me whete the neg goes looks like the pos goes where you can see the bolt when fuse box open.
You do not need a CTEK tender, any of the standard brands are fine. But you need the CTEK version if you buy the above and a CTEK, all of the others use a different cord. Follow the instructions for attaching to your fuse box and a ground.
The Top Flight adapter is the greatest thing I have done to my car. You don't even have to open the hood to make sure your car is ready to go. With the parasitic draw on a C6 it does not take long to kill a battery. My battery charge is no longer a concern when my toy gets to escape the garage.....
I have had one of my battery tenders for 10 years and it still works great. I have all my cars hardwired and usually run an extension inside the grille. On my vette it is under the bumper. All three stalls have a battery tender and it's just habit that when I pull in I plug the charger in. I work from home so don't drive all that much.

Is it that Desulphate phase of reconditioning battery?
That may be it. All I can say is that I've been at this Corvette thing for 41 years and tried almost everything, including MANY different battery tenders. Many have failed, over charged, went into float mode when the battery needed charging etc. This one works flawlessly. I haven't tried the Schumacher but I have no plans to change at this point.

For a weekend car, definitely use a good battery maintainer.
You can connect directly to the battery. That's what I did when I first got my CTEK. Then I experimented with other methods.
FWIW, I did have a CTEK fail. Not saying it's an inferior product but it did happen. What I wound up doing is reverting back to a Battery tender plus and got one of their longer extension cords. I was able to snake it through the gills on my GS and tuck in with a Velcro strip when not in use. It was really easy to do. Clipped of one plug, installed a couple of high quality eyelets and an the hot to the spot next to the fuse box and ground to a spot on the frame. I did the lighter adapter thing with the CTEK for a while before it failed but really didn't like running the cord out the door. CTEK also doesn't have the longer cord ( or at least I couldn't find one) so I couldn't run that one through the gills as I hoped I would have been able to.
