Guys this a fun hobby but can be a head ache and very expensive. I love working on these cars and with Kris. We both are learning all the time. It's sad that we spend all this money on the best parts but still have failures. Looks like we will both be going water to air intercooler.
I was quoted $200.00 to $300.00 on the repair and that is CCing and milling both heads. It could have been allot worse.
Looking for A/W intercoolers
Glad it wasnt no more than this for you buddy. But the pain in the azz to pull and redo what just was new again also. Just look at when it is done and how much fun it going to be,,Robert
I had a similar issue with mine last week, luckily it only took out the head and gasket, left the block alone. Guess what? Mine was on the #1 cylinder also and I am running a vic jr. and a edelbrock elbow.
I run a B8EFS and VP110 with a 70/30 water/meth mix. Mine didn't go lean, it was from an over rich condition.
It could have been much worse but still hurts to see the carnage right after all the money that's out from a big build. We will get it back up and running soon.
Too bad u did not start with a cooler may have prevented this I really feel bad for you bro:-( l also noticed a bottom end knock on that start up video I have a trained ear from 15+ years in Houston building motors u may want to check the clearances
A/c man it's part of racing. I was trying something outside the box. This engine was built to be pushed to the limit. There are guys doing this and running crazy times. Something was not happy and it told me so. No big deal. It should be running by next weekend. I am changing things up on the type of fuel and the elbow, colder plugs and a cooler.
$500 for a repair is cheap so I am glad it was no worse. It was a warning
I have been a advanced level ASE Master tech since I was 20. There is no bottom end noise.
I guess you are upset at me for messing with the clown. I have nothing against you. I have nothing against the clown but I was there when he threw his hissy fits and he is doing it again. He is a ok guy. Just wound a little to tight.

Almost every import making big power out there on E85 is running 2000cc injectors, this is the first time I have ever heard of this problem.
My car has been on 2000's/E85 for over a year now and I have yet to see any issues. I only drive my car a handful of times a month at the most and during the winter it sits for extended periods of time.
