Not this again, it all depends what you are looking for and how much$$$$ you want to spend. I think one thing most will agree on is sc is simpler all around, install and tuning. They both have pros and cons. My opinion for the general person looking just to go fast and be simple sc all day. When push comes to shove what ever you like better as in looks, money, power range. Turbos are nice because you can change boost easy. I will say if you look up fastest production cars in the world most are tt that has to say something by its self. Btw I do own a turbo corvette car and a supercharged mustang, oh no which is better ford or Chevy lol. I like them both and like fast things that's all that matters lol. Ecs or turbo win win just have lots of cash for the worst addiction a man can have
Did I miss something? The vid above says "stock bottom end world record pass" but both Albert Zo6 and Shawns coupe are faster and superchargered.
Awesome pass, but records are records and thats not a record?
Thanks. I didn't create the video. I think it is referring to it being a 6-speed with a stock LS1 bottom end. Do you know if anyone has been quicker with a 6 speed and LS1 in a C5 vette?
If you would like, I can contact the owner and have the title edited.
BTW, I guess they are faster because they are superchargered?
J/K
not an LS1 but at this point i think LS1 vs LS6 is splitting hairs. hell, look how long i was chasing shawn and his car is an LS1.
If you are comparing internals, true there isn't much of a difference between the rods, crank, pistons, and rings in the two engines. The heads and camshaft are more efficient. I couldn't come close to running the numbers until I swapped cams. The manifold pressure I'm seeing still shows that the LS1 heads are a restriction.
The "superchargered" comment was in reference to supercharged vs. superchargered. I'm trying to decide which term I like better. The 'ered almost sounds like it's even better. Either way, I laughed.
I wish it would run as fast as yours and Shawn's and wouldn't take anything away from your combos. Unfortunately I enjoy having a 6 speed and can't come anywhere close unless I go with a proshifted/faceplated trans. Autos are king when it comes to a marked 1/4 mile and racing against the clock. I lose atleast a tenth on every shift.
I'll see if the owner can edit the video and leave it at that until the next track event. The current goal for me is 9.50.
Do we need some more testing in the field? Evadale, June 7th Rebel Street Night. Instant green. You in?

Thanks, Doug. I'm trying to work with what I have for now instead of changing everything up. I've been able to knock atleast a .10 off on every track visit and have had a lot of good advice from the guys on this forum.

Reason: added info
Pros and Cons of each. Trying to decide which way to go.
Already have headers and a Vararam want more power
OP, sorry the thread veered off course. How much power are you looking to make?
The TTiX kit has been proven to make 500 rwhp to 1000+ rwhp without ever changing anything on the original kit. You can make even more if you start out with the larger turbos and 3 inch downpipes.
Supercharger kits are also very capable and can make similar power numbers. They often require some upgrades along the way unless you start out with a large head unit and install a restrictor plate to limit power.
It all comes down to personal preference, the type of power delivery that you want and power and budget goals.
