Default How many miles are Corvette c6s good for

I found some used Corvette c6s for 98K miles and one for 111K miles on it. For $18,000, can these cars still run great with that much mileage, and how many miles can they last?

Like all cars it depends on maintenance and how they were driven.

Properly maintained who knows how many miles one could get. I have seen 300,000 on one. I have 166,000 on my 07.

Have seen them die with alot less miles also.

Callaway has a C6 that has way up there miles on it too, and it is supercharged, so if properly maintained, they should easily go 300,000 miles and more.

1 to 300,000.

How many miles do you plan to put on one?

Same number of miles as any other late model Chevrolet...whatever you think that number is. People will disagree on this.

Like asking how long brakes or clutches last. It all depends. Normal driving the drivetrain never strains. Compared to turbo four cars that are maxed out to run at highway speeds a LS motor should last forever.

I've seen this car; it's gorgeous. I love the hood they put on it, and it sure doesn't look like it has as many miles as it does.

I took a look at a 2009 Vert with 20k miles on it that was falling apart. Found out it had been some sort of fleet car. They beat the heck out of that thing.

When I had my LS1 Camaro with 141K miles on the clock, a couple of mechanics told me that these engines regularly go 250K miles without major mechanical needs. Probably could be extended to the LS2 and LS3 engines as well.

I would be more concerned about clips and plastics on the car. Im sure the motor will run you 200k easy with proper maintenance. but when you want to maintenance stuff or replace little things your going to be breaking old dry clips and plastics. It will **** you off. lol especially if you live in a hot dry state.

<**I think** and correct me if I'm wrong please> Mobile 1 used to say that it you followed the manufacture's oil change interval that an engine, using only Mobile 1, would still meet factory "new" tolerances after 100,000 miles.

I'm not sure if this is an endorsement for Mobile 1, but it is certainly an endorsement for "depends on how they were cared for!"

My opinion is the engine will last 500,000 if properly maintained and cared for, not dogged on. You may have to change out other components, like alternator, belts, hoses, a/c parts, radiator, etc, may have to have tranny rebuilt, etc.

I had a Grandfather who drove a 1961 Rambler station wagon 410,000 miles when he traded it off. Engine still ran great, 3 speed tranny needed work though.

Who knows how long it will last if you take care of it correctly.

i have 97.5k on my 08 bought off original owner who had it serviced by gm since new. older gentlemen 90lbs soaking wet.. nobody believes my car has almost 100k on it. i replaced a few interior trim pieces like the door handle, lower plastic scuff plate and installed a new alcantara steering wheel. plus a new windshield because it was rashed.. also installed new oem headlight lenses bought from rlsebring on here and new bottom seat cushion foam from gm and the car looks great inside and out. runs great too...

all depends on how it was treated and maintained

you have to remember that even having 40k 50k on a vette, the pieces i mentioned i replaced are going to be worn, just not "as bad"... so on my almost 100k mile car i have "new" and it shows... if you replace select things, like say $1k worth of parts inside and outthe car will look almost new and saving 7-10k on buying low low mileage that's only going to depreciate very quickly as the miles add up..

unless you buy BRAND NEW... buy a higher mileage car for super cheap, replace a few pieces and enjoy it.. you'll still get as much for a 90k vette as a 120k mile vette.. so that's 30k miles of enjoyment for basic depreciation, unlike taking a 30k mile vette and running it to 60k or worse a 15k mile vette to 45k miles

did i confuse anyone?? lol
