You need a laugh, weeeelll let Bubba help
So I was working on my side exhaust covers today. And they are held on by the same 10-24 machine screws and blind nuts that hold on the rocker moldings. $2 for 3 stainless steel screws. No big deal. This is Bubbas solution to saving $6 bucks.. the first 2 and last black ones are the originals.........

Hi RR,
VERY nice assortment.
I'm wondering why he did in real life in order to have that assortment of screws in the bottom of his tool bucket?????
Regards,
Alan
I think that you are all being too cruel and cynical. I am certain that each screw comes with its own tale of passion, intrigue, mystery, romance and possibly even heartbreak. In the alternative, he found them all in the street.
I have no idea what the 'right' screws are (yet), but in my center console nearest the 'rating' placard just below the stick, are two 3" long self-tapping drywall screws that go into random holes in the tunnel. I'm figuring there's some type of bracket that's supposed to be there, but none of this has bubbled to the top as something I need to "fix" on my car.
The valence panels behind my sidepipes are held on with a nearly identical assortment of screws. Seems the solution to a wallowed out hole is simply to use a fatter screw...

My OCD wont let me use a weird assortment like that. It doesnt have to be original, but proper or better, yes. My door panels, dash and seats all had assortments like that.
A true bubba would have used dry wall screws. They are easier to find, plentiful, various colors to suit the application and will eventually fit most any hole or thread type. They are multiple lengths too this will give bubba the chance that if it does not initially hold, a longer screw will grab the next available material.
