My other question, NOT trying to be a wise guy, but the pix don't show the surface well, and why would I want to put that over my carpet? What about cars that don't have black interiors?

The durable top layer has a textured surface which looks aesthetically nice. I'll try and get a close up for you.
We were going after and focusing on reducing the noise. The fact that it looks nice was just gravy. But unfortunately we can't make them in different colors. So if you have a dark interior your good to go.
Now if you have a lighter interior, its obviously a bit of a contrast. Many already have or buy the aftermarket carpets to place on top of the cargo mat.
You really can't see the pieces that go behind the seats .
The C6 gen guys would lift the carpet and place it underneath. I have not tried that on the C5 yet.

sure did! so your product is only for the rear compartment and the seat back? What if I want to have a sound deadner UNDER my carpets? Use that other product you showed?

You would be surprised at how much of the tire & road noise leaks in through the cargo area and from behind the seats. The Blockit Quick & Quiet does a great job of reducing that unwanted noise. It only takes about 60 seconds to install.
However if you want to take it to the next level of quiet and you don't mind removing parts & lifting the carpet...etc then yes the DeadMats are awesome.

My car is relatively noisy around 1500 RPMs. The drone is pretty uncomfortable. I do have an after market exhaust system. Road noise isn't too bad.

Yes some aftermarket exhaust will drone bad. I had Loudmouths II's and it was insane (I'm sure the stepped headers didn't help).
Back when we developed the Blockit Quick & Quiet we tested in the dreaded 1500- 2000 zone. The Blockit absolutely helped in my insanely loud car but I will tell you it did not eliminate it.
We are clear when we advertise that this will not turn your car into a Cadillac. It knocks down drone, its great for tire noise, take 60 seconds, while still letting that sweet exhaust note come through..
However we have since developed the DeadMats which helps attack vibration and drone. The application for this requires lifting the carpet. Some use a combination of both products to really take care of their annoying interior noise levels. Unfortunately at this time we don't have a Blockit Quick & Quiet mat for the vert yet.
