Default Good job!!!!

I came back to work this morning and my Diffuser is here. Does anyone know if we should be using double sided tape on these (just for added support)? Where do the small clear spacers go? Mine will be going on my car TONIGHT!!!!

The spacers or tabs were for the washers at the fenders. Just so the washer wasn't touching the fender when tightening it down.

Post pics when done please

Yes please post pics!! Should contrast great with a yellow car. Im hoping someone with a black car will post up not sure if I want to go with the urethane and paint it gloss black or plastidip it matte black to save money or go with the CF.

Only issue that I can see do far is if your running c6 Z06 splash gaurds like me on my flared fenders. I'm going to have to modify them a bit to fit around the new diffuser.

It looks like a little edging with a dremel you could fit the diffuser in-between the flares and bumper

Yeah for sure... I think the simplest route would be just to trim the splash gaurd a bit with a dremel as you said to fit around it. No big deal since hey the splash gaurds need quite a bit of trimming in the first place just to get them to fit the car. Everything else seems to be spot on with really tight clearances. I can't really see anything that would need to be modified or cause any issues at all. There is a very ingenious slight lip/edge built into the side that mounts to the car. At first I wondered why, but then figured it out that it should completely hide any double side tape and keep a nice clean edge up against the bumper cover. Plenty of clearance around my corsa extreme tips. Nice tabs molded in that attach to the factory bumper cover mounts above the tips. Al and all very impressed! I've got baseball and softball tournaments all weekend but will try to find some time to pop this on and get pictures for y'all. Does not look like it should be more than a 45 min job.

Default You may not need to paint.

You may not need to paint for the black car. It comes out of the box with a shine to it. Mine is going on a yellow car and I would like to loose the shine, but I'm happy to finally have the part.

Thanks for the feedback looking closely they do look shiny on the guy who posted on the red car. Some close ups show some scuffs and minor nicks unless its just something that needs to be washed or buffed off manufacturing dirt. I would love to save some money and not have to pay for paint.

Has anyone that received this not installed it yet? I'd like to see a picture or list of all their included hardware as I believe I'm missing a few parts. Nothing I can't get at a local hardware store but don't want to make multiple trips if I can avoid it.

Thanks!

Hmm I was thinking of going with that spoiler with the diffuser. I always felt like that spoiler followed the body lines the best. I would really like the bumper that has the curved spoiler already molded in but ive heard of too many fitment issues.

So what spoiler do you think would go best? Carravagio was my second choice as I have seen that one in person and think it looks great.

Twill - that diffuser looks great. It would be nice if you did a shirt write-up on the install - especially any things to pay particular attention to.

I would like to thank Rob (stealth02) for coming up with this diffuser and the help that he gave me getting it on my car. I have been waiting 10 months for this part and it's great finally getting it on. It completes the look that I was going for when I bought this car a year ago.

Default Instalation tips.

Prep the diffuser, 1) Scuff up the area that will cover the mufflers. I used a sanding drum in a cordless drill. 2) scuff up the channel that double sided tape will go in around the top inside edge of the diffuser. 3) clean both places that you have sanded so that the double sided tape tape and heat shield tape will stick.4) I used heat shield tape from Advance Auto Parts on the area that is close to the mufflers. 5) Put TWO LAYERS of double sided tape on the top edge of the diffuser. The 3M tape I used didn't seem to be thick enough (the channel is a little too deep).Leave the backing on the tape that goes up against the car. 6) Drill 1/2 inch holes in the four tabs that will touch the bottom underside of the car above the exhaust pipes. 7) Pull the four retaining plugs the hold on the rear bumper where the four tabs will sit. 8) Line everything up and then put in the four large bolts and washers. Don't tighten them all the way yet until you are sure that it is where you want it to be then snug it up. 9) Put the four retaining plugs back in (the two outside plugs are extremely hard to get back in) . 10) The front leading edge behind the rear wheels requires a clip (Rob told me to use Storm door Panel Clips that I got at Home Depot) the washers that came with the diffuser didn't seem to work and this seem like a better option. 11) Because the bumper is soft you can push in on it and remove the backside of the double sided tape. 12) Snug everything up and enjoy the new look.
