Default I need a cargo net

I was driving around today with one of those heavy desktop tape dispensers in the back area of my coupe. I had to make a sudden stop on the freeway (no, I wasn't speeding) and the thing rocketed into the passenger compartment and hit just below the AC controls. And on its way up front it hit the shift **** putting it into neutral. I see a cargo net in my future.

Not fun or smart to see stuff flying around the interior of your ride when you jump on the brakes. Cargo net is good but stuff on the passenger floor is another option. My convertible also has the luxury of a trunk with a bulkhead so I don`t have the same problem.

I picked up this three compartment net after it was posted on here, it works great and fits perfectly if you're looking for one:

If you ever find a source for them, I'll be their second customer. I have a jerry-rigged heavy net back there now tied into the 4 rings. In SUV's or the Corvette I have always securely tied down anything that could to kill me in a collision.

I think the OP wants the cargo net up front right behind the seats.

Not the best option if I have a passenger in the car.

Thanks for the link. Ordered it.

Yes, up front would be best but I'll settle for the above three-compartment net until something better pops up.

FWIW, use this collapsible ballistic nylon trunk/SUV organizer all the time when transporting groceries, etc. I made a collapsible wooded divider to hold milk, 5 quart oil containers etc. Don't want to cry over spilled milk! Some models are available with partitions.

When not in use it folds flat on the floor. This particular one has a zippered cover. It is shown on top of the "fender protector" I use when lifting heavy items like golf clubs over the spoiler.

Internal wood partitions assembled.

Wood Partitions lay flat when not in use. Carrier folds flat and has Velcro strips that stick to C7 carpet or the "Fender Protector" I use when lifting heavy items over the spoiler. The "Fender Protector" bottom surface holds without slipping and does not slip on the carpet.

I have the above three compartment net and it works awesome. I just unhook the front clips when not using and only takes a few seconds to clip on. I'll throw my gym bag in there and stays put. Well worth the money.

One of the benefits of having a convertible is the trunk. No worry about others seeing what you are carrying or cargo flying into the passenger area in a panic stop. I do use the GM supplied cargo net to keep items from flying around durring spirited maneuvers.

I wonder why GM doesn't have a provision to put one right behind the seat backs?

^^ They did, in a way. I bought the three pocket cargo net a year ago and love it. I transferred the OEM cargo net to the front of the cargo area right behind the seats. It keeps the things you want while still in the seat handy.

I have found an excellent cargo net for my C7 Coupe. It is made by Gladiator; the 4' by 4' size is a reasonably good fit. This thing is industrial strength, I'm guessing at least as strong as the tie-down rings in the car. Not knowing the forum rules, I will refrain from posting a link but a Google search will find it. Around $100 if memory serves.
