On this Veteran’s Day I’d like to say thank you to all of the veterans for your service to our country. Your sacrifices can never be repaid, but they will also never be forgotten. Thank you for your courage, and I hope all of the veterans here at Corvetteforum have an amazing day!

A stunning image for Veterans Day shows a light coming through a specially designed memorial that perfectly lights up the Great Seal of the United States! It's a magnificent homage to America's veterans, who light the way for our entire nation. This is Anthem Veterans Memorial in Anthem, Arizona.Designed by Anthem resident Renee Palmer-Jones, the five marble pillars represent the five branches of the United States military.
They are staggered in size and ordered in accordance with the Department of Defense prescribed precedence, ranging from the United States Army, the United States Marine Corp, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force and the United States Coast Guard.
Anthem resident and chief engineer, Jim Martin, aligned the five pillars so that at precisely 11:11 a.m. on Veterans Day (November 11), the sun’s rays will pass through each of the five pillars’ elliptical openings to illuminate a glass mosaic medallion of the Great Seal of the United States.
A fitting tribute to our nation's veterans.
Life in the Navy was always an adventure. USN 1969 - 1992.
USS McCloy (FF-1038) Refueling at sea. North Atlantic 1975. The ships are 80 feet apart traveling at 15 knots.
For anyone who has never been to sea it can be an amazingly violent experience, highline was not my favorite, very scary to be that close to another ship.
We did a person transfer one time and I thought the LT was going in the drink, he got a little wet
Smashed my finger in a "****** block" doing it damn that hurt

For my US Navy veteran father, who served on the USS Laffey in WWII.
USS Laffey (DD-459), and all who served on her were genuine heroes.
On 16 April 1945 during the Battle of Okinawa, she was hit with a 50 aircraft attack, resulting in 4 bomb hits, 6 kamikaze strikes and numerous strafing runs resulting in 32 killed and 71 wounded. The Captain, when asked by a junior officer if they should abandon ship replied "NO! I'll never abandon ship as long as a single gun will fire."
That my Corvette buddies, is heroic.
God bless the greatest generation and all veterans.
