I'm thinking about buying the pioneer 4200 nex and was wondering if anyone knows a good water proof, night vision , long lasting backup camera that's not more than $75 or something resonable . Also should I spend the extra fifty dollars for a 3 to four year warranty even tho they won't cover the cost of reinstalling the device if it breaks in a few years since I'm getting installed buy someone I know and trust
I went with a cheap camera, the Pyle plcm38 it was $17 at the time. Works well enough. The video wire is already there, so if I ever want or need to change it, it would be real simple swap.
I have the 4200 and it works and sounds very well. No matter what camera you get make sure you don't take for granted that those 2 guides will prevent you from almost hitting the wife's Audi. Not that anyone almost did that 😉 Turn around and look. Better yet set up some cardboard boxes to adjust.
Haha I'll be careful for sure
I was in one accident last year with my old 99 firebird so I don't want to ever experience that again hahaha
okay I'm going to buy radio from Best Buy but I still need to buy the kit so I looked at this here and it has good reviews Metra Axxess ASWC-1 Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface
is that all that I need or am I missing another accessory to have everything I need to get it installed ? I'll check out that backup cameras reviews too so thanks for that !
I went with this one from Amazon ... works great, has a better picture then the camera that came equipped on my wife's CUV, and meets all your requirements ...

yes, you are going to need a few things. Chances are you are going to need the PAC Audio RP5-GM11 harness, comes with steering wheel controls and entenna adapter. Also metro faceplate, Sirius tuner if you want it. Go on crutchfield.com and put in what year car you have and it will give you all the stuff u need. I don't have all the model numbers on me right now, im not home.
What do you plan to do about the SirrusXM connection? My 2008 Base has the SirrusXM antenna ... at least I think that's what it is ... at the top of the window frame. I don't use it, but I'd like to retain the option in case I decide to sell.
Okay I think I'm understanding a bit more of what I need now thanks so much I'll let you if I have more questions

If you want to keep SiriusXM, you need to buy SiriusXM tuner module that attaches to the back of the radio and run a wire for the antenna. As long as the radio you buy is SiriusXM capable.
Yes me too
please explain on how to keep the option open!

Wow I couldn't have figured all this out on my own thanks so much ! I'm thinking about just using the existing Sirius xm tuner and buying the 10' extension cable if it has the same quality outcome

You still need a new tuner, the extension cable is only to use the existing stock antenna which is recommended for better reception.
I just recently bought the Pioneer 4200 NEX and got it installed. I also bought these 2 cameras to install after. I'm going to install both front and rear since the head unit has connections for 2 cameras.
