Look around for a build using a Dart SHP block.

Is this the small dart block pushed to 427 ?

With my under-experience question "can I as a weekend street, "maybe" 1/10 mile strip-performer, really do better than 450-375 hp running 255 on the racing tires.

My view on this subject is "there is no replacement for displacement". Used 400 4-bolt block .040 stroked 434cid in my 69. I wanted the stock look with gobs of torque. T

You can street a lot more HP and still drive her all the time .. I got enough vacuum to run breaks and head lights. And it is wicked fast I run the 1/4 mile as well as drive it all the time

It was warm last week here, we had a "small block" 434 show up. It sounded like a big block.

Don't know much, but time will tell...

I have a 383 in my other ride and love it. Very dependable.. good with the 6 speed.

My buddy stores his car in my garage ,, Its a LS about 550 or more hp runs 11's .. I started mine and his after several months of sitting waiting for spring .. Actually drove her around and had plenty of asphalt for a snack....

Ya know she is tight even after sitting all winter no cropping out the exhaust at all.. Love this motor .. !!

I also have a Fab 9 Full axle rear end and a FULL 3" exhaust. East Coast Collision killed it on fabrication

JUMP TO 1:11 TO GET TO THE VETTE STARTING

I built a 383 (388 actually) this time around as I got a good deal on a complete engine to use as a basis. But next time around it'll be a dart shp block and 400+ cubes for sure! Not sure why you think a 383 would be an easier sell??
