A friend has a 2013 Grand Sport he bought new that came with a Battery Protection Package. It's basically a CTEK 3300 with the C-6 Logo. Can't remember ever seeing that option when I got my 2013 GS and just wondering if anyone else got the package or has seen it. Maybe it was a dealer option? Anyway just curious, seems I learn something new all the time with the C-6.

I my 2012 has that package. As you said it comes with a CTEK looking charger that plugs into the ciglighter. I don't particularly like it because I don't like cracking my window to maintain the battery. I've been thinking about splicing an end on it to connect under the hood while charging since its not designed for different ends.

You don't have to crack the window. Just run the cigarette plug wire out the bottom of the door. Near the front is a notch you can fit the wire into. Then just close the door. The wire will not be crimped.
My main problem is that the cigarette plug doesn't seem to fit all that well into the lighter socket in the ashtray.
You can buy a plug for under the hood that I think has a magnetic end on it. You just drive away and it pops off (somewhat like a firetruck or ambulance uses in the station), then hook it back up when you park again.

Thought that was what the indents in the door sills was for (charger wire). I have not used it but many people do.

Use the one under the center armrest. Fits perfect.
I paid $100 for that & got nothing. Salesperson did not offer a charger or an explanation to me, nor did any of the other 6 office-types/service people say anything. I thought (incorrectly) it was some type of extra warranty on the battery. Will email dealer to ask.

UPDATE 3-22-17:
After another email to dealer, manager called & verified that $100 BPP means I paid for a charger. He will not give me one. It would have been a nice thing to have when I sell the car since it was supposed to be part of the original equipment. I'm not losing any sleep over this & will read window sticker more carefully next time.

Mine came in a small white box with a carry case. It was all given to me by the original owner. They sell them on Amazon and EBay if you must have one and the dealer is unwilling to make right on it. Looks like this,
I have a Battery Tender that I used on my motorcycle which now stays on the battery almost all the time. It would be nice to get the one I paid for. Dealer was pleasant during sale process. Maybe he'll make it right by sending one.

Thanks. I've only had the car a year didn't know that.
OK, I'll try that one. But doesn't the plug need to be "hot" all the time to maintain the battery?
There's a little red adapter that came with the cig plug cable but it doesn't seem to fit any better using it.
On the C6, both the cig lighter socket and the console socket are always hot, unlike some other brands.
Good for battery chargers/tenders, not so good if you plug in some kind of accessory and forget to unplug/turn off.
We've had the Corvette-branded version since they came out, when the car is not being driven for a few days it's plugged into the cig lighter socket with the cord run out the notch in the bottom of the door. Works fine for us. I also use it when pre-entering a series of destinations into the Nav for a long road trip.
I have the Battery Protection Package and have been running the wire under the door and using the socket on the dash since the car was new. No issues. If you can't find the C6 Version, other CTEK models are available.

You know the warranty thing on the battery might of been what I thought and blew it off

I got the CTEK 3300 run it under the door to the center console. Looks like the Factory unit without the logo. Works great no issues. Guess I'd of ordered the factory pack if I knew what I was doing at the time.
Great timing on this thread. I've been a C6 owner now for just over a month, and since picking up the car in mid-Feb. I've only had a few decent days to drive it.
I go out yesterday to fire it up and when trying to open the door, the auto locks would barely click and would not open. I ultimately had to use the key to open the hatch and pull the manual door release, and upon doing so cause the alarm system to try and go off with what juice was left. Horn relay kept clicking on and off in addition to the interior lights.
Anyhow, I am going to buy a new battery since it looks like the original battery has been on the car since '09. Since the car is not a daily, I was going to buy the C6 branded tender that goes in the lighter, but have a question for those that have used tender's for years?
How safe are they? I am an uber paranoid and can picture leaving it plugged up and something going wrong Although if I understand correctly it has a smart shutoff. Hopefully someone can put my paranoia to ease.
On a side note I found the Corvette branded charger at Corvette Mods in addition to Amazon, Ebay, etc.

I ran CTEK 3300 in the 3rd year of ownership of my 2005. Now 12 years later I just replaced the original battery. That battery went 12 years twice the life that it was rated at 6 yrs in 2005.
