Default Wheel Hammer Storage

I have not found a reference as to how the lead knockoff hammer is supposed to be stored on a 65. Does it just lay on the compartment floor and make noise or is there a spring that holds it down?

Thanks,

Doc

The spring holds it down.

The same spring that holds the jack in place?

Your AIM will have a grainy illustration at UPC P48, Sheet A2. Also, check the jacking instruction sheet affixed to the inside of the storage compartment cover. Yes, one spring wraps around the jack, handle, KO hammer.

Thanks, I suspected that the info was in the AIM but I don't have much luck finding anything in there.

on page 2 there is a picture of a car with 14 different areas which refers to the different sections of the manual. It helps somewhat. But I usually end up flipping through the pages looking for a picture of what I want to see. The yellow stickies on the top of the page help.

The link below will take you to a feature article I wrote on how the Assembly Manual is organized and how to use it, and how the plants used it without having to shuffle through the pages looking for an illustration. The article was published originally in "Corvette Enthusiast" magazine, then modified for the Camaro guys on our CRG site.

I've had a few original factory assembly manuals years ago and they had section dividers with tabs describing the contents of the section. That made it easier to find things.

Why don't you just lay yer Motha' Thumpa' on top of the jack and forget it. Mine never rattles.
