2 1/2 years I've had her and during that time I invested in light mods that make her uniquely mine.
- Z06 shocks
- Corsa Sport with X Pipe
- Black Z06 Spyder Wheels
- Kenwood & JL Audio with Sub Box
- Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires
- Black painted C5 Exhaust Plate
I love the car more and more as time passes. Can't think of anything on the road that would make more sense as my weekend and occasional week night escape route.
I may start looking into upgrading the seat foam next. Other than that, I just fricken love this car.
If I sold my very lightly modded C5 6m vert, where could I go to get a performance car of my C5's all around capabilities for anywhere near the same kind of money? I don't think I can. Besides that, in my personal opinion, the C5 is absolutely the best looking of all vettes, with the exception of a '67 coupe. In addition, I genuinely enjoy the car. So it looks like its staying for the foreseeable future. Best wishes!
After 3 years I finely know how work on the thing ,took 3 years to figure it out . MY 04 Z-16 with 450 RWHP runs with the stock C-7s out handles them also is paid for I get Class winner plaques all the time at shows the A/C will freeze you out of the thing.. I have put lots of work in it and it drives as good as my buds 2013 Z and could not get crap for it so keeping it .. Why not ?
I hate my C5, money hungry bitch. Tells me every day, "mod me, mod me!" "Wouldn't I be better with a stroker? Coil overs? Carbon Fiber? Wide body? 3 piece wheels?"
My C5 can keep up with 99% of the cars on the roadway, why would I want to get rid of that. Oh by the way it has a supercharger and its automatic with 3.42 gears.
During the ownership of my C5Z I had plenty of nice cars like other C6Z cars and AMG'S and I still love the looks of my C5Z better than all of them and more compliments in this than my other cars. It is my little hot rod.

Just bought this 97 a couple of days ago. Hadn't had a C5 in a while. I forgot how nice these cars are to drive. Car is all original with Firethorn interior and loaded. 58,000 miles. Well taken care of. Glad to have it in my barn
This is my third Corvette. I've owned it for the past two years. I found it being unloved and sitting in the weather for a number of years. I have cleaned and polished and cleaned and polished. Its now looking pretty good these days.
A C2, C3, C7 & a F430 later, I can't let go of my 1st Corvette
High Lift Door went into the 2 car part of my Garage Thursday, now just waiting for my 2nd lift so I can bring her back home.
We were days away from trading our C5 for a 2017 black vert, but could not get the deal done before the order deadline. So. . .now we get to drive it another 3-4 months before ordering a 2018. . .unless we change our minds over the summer. We do love this car !!!
Well since my last post, we ordered a black Stingray 7-speed convertible, watched it get built and "Birthed" it at the end of the line on May 15. Will pick her up June 7 at the Museum. Today got a couple coming over to look at our C5 to buy. While the wife wants the C7, she's already tearing up at the thought of loosing her toy from the last 10yr. Could use a 4-car garage right now and just keep it.
