Did nothing but a wash and clay bar and the clay did take about 4 hours wish I would have taken a close up before and after shot but I really didn't think my car was that dirty until afterwards that clay is amazing
I bought a 05 that had swirls and a lot of scratches. Clayed car 5 times, buffed with compound, polished, and three coats mothers carnuba wax. It is not perfect but a lot better!
Placed a plastic grocery bag on my hand and feel for blemishes. The bag trick will really show what you missed.
If you think it looks good now, try polishing it and then a good coat of wax. The clay bar does nothing more then remove the embedded contaminates in the paint.
I just saw an ad for Mothers Speed Clay 2.0 and bought one yesterday, it looks like a computer mouse with a spongy surface...........anyone here tried it yet?

I tried it and while it's quick and easy to use I wasn't impressed with the results. To me the finish definitely did not feel as smooth as when you use regular clay bar.
The best way I have found to determine if you need to clay and also how well did you do is to use the baggy test. That is to say get a plastic sandwich bag and put your hand in it and with your finger tips lightly move it ove the body surface. If you feel little bumps it needs to be clay barred.
Once you do a small area do the baggy test again to see if you removed all the contaminates. If not do that area again. Also always make sure to use plenty of lubricant, such as a detail spray. You should be able to to do a C6 in less then an hour.

I just spent about 40 hours doing paint correction, little section at a time like mike Phillips suggests, clay, compound, polish then wax and wow. Like said above, clay bar only removes contamination. Car looks great, you will be amazed with polish and wax. I love Pinnacle
40 hours doing paint correction !!!!...??? Jeeze-ma-neeze thats a lot of time and work on something thats just gonna need it again sooner than later if the car is driven with any kind of regularity. Me thinks i'll just keep putting a good coat of wax on every few months and save the baggies for beer snacks.....

I spent 9 days detailing my car in preparation for car show season starting at around 10 AM each day and going until around 5-6 PM. Was a very strenuous, but relaxing vacation.
Unless they have a built-in sprayer attachment to spray the lubricating fluid on the car as you clay, I don't see this getting much use.
You actually use windex with it for lubrication. Saw it in use on
Velocity channel's "competiton ready" show. I have the Sonax sealer on my vette and it works great. Don't have to rewax for 6 months

If you think it looks great after just a clay bar, try adding a ceramic coating like cquartz. Just be sure to put on your sunglasses first so you don't get blinded!

I would never suggesting that the ceramic coating be applied after clay barring only. The paint will need a complete correction process done first. the coating is the last step. If you don't correct the paint first all the imperfections are not under the coating and you will not be able to fix them without removing the ceramic first.

You will never see me using Windex for anything on my car; not even the glass.
Even so, a 6" polisher requires two hands to use it right. That means constantly stopping to spray more lubricant, then starting again, then stopping, then starting.....
I'm definitely going to polish and wax I just ran out of time so I put it in the garage and covered it up till next weekend will I need to rewash or can I just start buffing??
