just came back from my first trip ever to the dragstrip. I took my 2004 Corvette Z06 that's putting out approximately 450 hp to the wheels and 430 rwtq. Toyo R888 all 4 corners. 275/40/17 up front, 305/35/18 in the rear. I was expecting, with my amateur driving, somewhere in the low 12 second to high 11 second range. I wasn't even close. It's funny and disappointing at the same time, I definitely have some work to do on my end.

I ranged between 2.242 and 2.470 for my 60 foot time, which I know is terrible. ET ranged between 12.818 to 13.981 ( I spun really bad off the line on this run). And my trap speed ranged from 112.57-114.81.

With these numbers, what's the best do you guys think this car can do with a seasoned driver behind the wheel?

Also, I would love to hear some suggestions on how to lower these times especially my 60 foot

FWIW I had my '02 Z06 at the track last night. It's bone stock and I ran a personal best of 12.649 at 113.60 with a 2.115 60'. The "fast list" has stock cars in the high 11's.

Installed LED driving lights and interior lights. Did the full treatment. Washed it, clay bar, sealed the glass, polished, waxed. Adams polishes are the ****! I dont know how I used anything else before.

Took a drive down to Malibu and went up and down Latigo Canyon. First time I did canyon driving and while it was very fun, I got extremely car sick unfortunately. Shame since I really enjoyed the drive despite the motion sickness

Here's a nice pic I took while I took a break to recover from the motion sickness lol

Waiting for new (off eBay) torque tube (going to use for parts) to arrive. To relive to boredom I'm going to replace a failing oil presser sending unit.

Bro something isnt right. You should be trapping WAY higher considering all the work and quality parts that are into your car. Maybe your just launching too hard?

Doubt I'm launching too hard. Trust me I babied it off the line. I'm with you, I feel like something is way off, whether that be because of the driver or something mechanical. I know I'm Running stock fuel injectors at around 90% of their capacity and I'm also running my stock clutch (which is still holding fine with no issues, slipping or Pedal sticking to the floor) would either of those two things be holding me back?

Today was headlight gear kit day for me. SO glad to not hear it grind any more. I bought kits for both sides, but have only done one for now. I anticipate the next one to take half as long. Also, a quick car wash and checked all codes in the dic for the first time. I keep getting abs/trac lights after a car wash. LF wheel speed sensor code obtained. Next step is to check grounds.

you need a tire if you really want a better time! your launch technique needs some work slower your clutch release to start with play with tire pressure, are you shifting fast or granny shifting the car? when i was 450ish hp i was running upper 11's around 118mph with 1.7x 60's (best of 11.6 @ 119mph with a 1.68 60ft)

you need a sticky tire, get the launch down and shift as fast as you can bottom line is the harder you push the car the better time you'll see but if you push it to hard something will let go so it comes down to hot bad do you want that killer time slip!

Wrapped my keyfob (got the wrap on ebay). Stock fob looks cheap plus the wrap will help protect it. My Z is Torch Red so bought red carbon fiber look wrap to complement the car.
