Route 66 runs right thru AZ also. It was where I-40 is now, and there is a town named Holbrook that has a Wigwam Motel also. It actually has teepees that you can stay in for the night! I haven't done any of that yet, as I've been waiting to get my 76 road worthy and take it on the trip, but I go all through that area quite often on business and see a lot of Route 66 as I travel.
Some of today's photo didn't come out so well. The first END of ROUTE sign is on the southwest corner on Jackson at Michigan Ave. We could not locate the later end of route sign at Jackson and Lakeshore Drive. Below is a photo of us facing Lake Michigan on Jackson at Lakeshore Drive. We drove the route in the opposite direction but still couldn't locate that sign.
The BEGIN of ROUTE sign photo is hard to read. This sign is located on the southwest corner on Adams at Michigan Ave.
We had a great time, loved your comments, and hope you all placed this wonderful tour on your bucket list.
Sorry to see it end, loving seeing the country side! If I ever decided to make the trip in my Corvette would need truck to follow with wifes clothes, has for me, brown paper bag is all I need.
I tried once and took her on Corvette Caravan we had to mail package to the hotels along our two week trip. I keep her at home, with all her clothes and go Corvette Museum with friends.
Have safe trip back home.

It sure was great Acft, was introduced to her at 63 MAW Norton AFB Calif., then 438 MAW McGuire AFB NJ. I also have many hours, going to different Countries all over the world.
Here is website you might not know about, but it's tribute to all who flew her and maintain her, right up to the boneyard and destructions of her, truly sad pictures to see getting chopped.
They also Guestbook, you might want to sign, or go though the pages looking for people's name you might of flown with durning your career. Thank You For Your Service.
Thanx again for the tag along. I am also following a high school buddy of mine on FB who is also on route 66 with his dad in his black 66 Chevelle Super Sport. They were at the Cadillac ranch on Tuesday headed towards CA. They are on their way to a Long Beach swap meet on Saturday.
We are on our return route to home, but decided to stop at Route 66 diner, "SID's" located just a few miles north of I-40. They were closed on Sunday on our first pass thru so we thought we would stop by on the return.
Drop a pin on their wall map marking where you hale from. They clear the map every year to start fresh with new pin drops.
