Auto Extras & MemorabiliaAccessories for your Corvette that aren’t budget-busters. Plus, Corvette memorabilia and die cast models (1:24 and 1:18 scale).
Mine are mostly 1:18th scale. They used to be in my basement bar, however after moving to Florida, I lost the basement so I retro-fitted the display for my garage. I keep the nicer BBRs in my office.
Small collection - selling a couple pieces ( autographed)
Making room on my office shelves.... Here's one of the pieces...
Way back I fell in love with the "Exoto" Grand Sport Corvette. I bought one of the earliest. Soon after, I heard Dick Guldstrand was moving his famed shop from Jefferson Blvd. I called him and offered my assistance for the move. He asked me to meet him at the old shop. He needed help to remove his sign from the front. He pulls up in his older Jaguar sedan-turbo charged!!
( Speed Channel was supposed to be there to film, for that historic moment.... we waited... they never showed up)... Guldstrand was the last of the historic shops to leave Jefferson Blvd.
Dick showed me around the old shop.... ( lots'a stories)..... I handed him this Exoto diecast to sign. He gladly signed it, and noticed something odd...
It had no sway bar. He said, " Some had them above, and some were mounted below". Apparently, the Exoto engineers just didn't notice, not seeing the bar below. I gave Dick, Exoto's phone number ( Andy K. ) ..... They talked and began a relationship to create the other Grand Sports. Hanging around with Dick, I also have some original Decals 'Guldstrand Suspension', ( Jefferson Blvd).... & new version ' Guldstrand Motorsports' ( Burbank).... & original Dk Blue v-neck sweater.
Along with some "Grand Sport 90-Natural Gas lithos.. signed/numbered..
He wanted to relocate his shop closer to home due to awful traffic.
( The move into the new shop is another story in itself !!)
This 1/18" die cast was signed by Dick... ( you can see the date '99 he included)..... EXOTO catalogue shows the 1963 Grand Sport Prototype.. 'retired'..... $1,400.....
I can't figure the "value" of this, but considering Dick's signature...... Priceless? I wonder what a best offer would be?
I really want this die cast to go to a good home.... I miss Dick & his good humor !!

I know this. If it was mine it would be in a dust free case.
It was in a 'sort of' dust free case... a glass door case.... it's actually clean & perfect condition.... It's just, a bit of dust creaped in....( I noticed that in the picture too !! ) it easily cleaned off with a soft brush after photo.

Great collections guys!! Some very beautiful displays. I wish I had spent more on display cases/shelving. Like that beautiful Sunoco pump case. I am curious to know where you got that Sam.
Dick Guldstrand gave me a couple signed/numbered lithos..... This was an un-signed & I have it in my garage.
I wonder where these actual cars ended up??
